oh that too, stil working on the tune for it. Think its a touch lean up top, but every where else its good so far. I am not sure i gained anything yet since its abit lean but hopefully this week i'll get back at it
Nice....!!!!!
Were you racing against what I think you were racing against....?
^ Bauer's camshafts have always impressed me. He's a big believer in using the least amount of duration possible for street driven applications. He could have leaned toward more duration, but that might have sacrificed drivability. Both he, Curtis and Overton are the best cam designers out there. Only know of one 3rd Gen car (Traxion's) that employed an Overton camshaft, and to this day I'm very impressed. Tim (Traxion) is one hell of a tuner, and he didn't even delve that deep into it in this run. So much more was left on the table....

some of these custom cams alot of people are putting alot of faith in are using lobes that are more aggressive than full on race lobes. (will not stand up to street driving)
here ya go shawn here are more pictures of the turbo i pointed u at lil bit better to give u the idea of the size
Trying to determine if the Phamspeed setup will clear everything in the third gen, and if so, it's just the matter of making the downpipe for him....;

Very true. A lot of guys switched to LSK lobes a few years back when they were suddenly the rage, but then immediately pulled them back out because they didn't shim their springs properly to make them last, and/or were simply a bear to tune for street driven applications....

Going to get a few vids for you guys this week as well. A couple of new Dodge Challenger's started to show up at the track, and it's only a matter of time before one of us crosses paths with a new ZR1....
Was originally set for October 25th, and nobody from the track got back to me to say otherwise yet. I see your very eager to get beaten though.....?

TTA-343 had a very good idea, let's make this get together a little bit more interesting by leveling out the playing field. You guys want to bracket race? I mean, I see Melissa won today. Care to follow that up against real cars, namely 3rd gens....?

i just pray i can get a cage/nitrous/12 bolt in a month. doubtful
if no cage i'll have to stay at 11.50's i would hate to have to detune the car for that or brake at the line/get out of it early
i want to do the new interior at the same time as the cage, since its easier that way. What i have in mind is gonna cost a fair penny and take time, depending if i can find the interior parts i need and what seats i go with
^ I'm in a very similar boat as far as getting her done in time. Pulled the valve cover off cuz I started hearing valve clack that effected idle pretty badly, only to find....;
Bad news is I need to replace the valve, spring retainer and stud....
Good news is I'm replacing both heads with 2.02/1.60 heads....

This is why we should bracket race. Got a few PM's from member's who are concerned about their cars only running in the 12's and 13's. If we bracket race, it levels everything out, and it gives the 12-13-14 second cars a chance to bring home the win....
oh **** what happened rob? i have a nice set of ported bare heads u can have, they have everything but springs locks and retianers.
anyways im back around since the outing to the track last friday i have been in and out of old bride medical 3 times and i just got released from st peters about an hour ago, hopefully i wont have to be going back anytime soon.lol i think they shot me full of enough meds to keep me from being sick for the next 2 years

Why bracket Race since a GTO will be sure To win it ALL then... It's Boring Running You Guy's Down all the Time, Bring a Good 9 second 3rd Gen car and Let's race ......Frank
yeah i got valves the heads are 1.96/1.60 or 1.96/1.50, i have stock springs and retainers/locks but u wont wont to use those.specially since aftermarket is the same cost anyway. and take the heads theve been sitting in the shop from i build i started 5 years ago and since sold off the 4 bolt block crank and rods. im tierd of triping over them
72 or 76cc chambers id have to re cc them for a deffinate answer
btw talk to shawn latley? talked to him a few days ago ,gonan have to give him a call up tom and see if he wants to get the install knocked out sometime tom night

There were a few GTO's out at the track a few weeks ago...2 14sec speedsters...1High 13sec and a power adder 12.80 car...Hopefully none of them are coming for you guys...Or it will be you guys getting run down all day...

No problem...Even though it wont be close to the 12's when this event happens...Just remember to bring your 13sec Beast...Or do you have one of those 16 power adder 10sec cars?...lol
Only took my lil v6 heavy GN 1 turbo to go bottom 10's...lol
They want to bracket race cause they have been watching us race the past few weekends @ E-town and seen how fast we run in the heat and with the cooler weather coming around they are scared to go heads up
but if you guys really want to bracket race we are game, melissa passes from the Buick olds pontiac race last saturday

Also,Nice meeting you guys there...I guess that Tempest saved his best run for me...lol...He didn't look like he did so well on his run against Melissa. He went .005 Green and 11.29 on a 11.27 dial against me. ...lol Oh well..
Also, congrats to My Buddy Artie who won the Radial tire buick class...his car is dialed in and he is a terror on the tree...Nobody there was taking him down that day.He is also fifth in the real street point chase.

We'll go heads up, no problemo. I thought it would be a good idea to give the slower cars a chance to bring home the win for the entire event, but we could keep it in seperate classes if need be. Gotta be some rules though so things don't get out of hand, so how about this, heads-up racing but you can't go faster than that bracket that you select otherwise you automatically lose. Example, two racers select the 11.00 - 11.49 index, both can run 11.00 or anything slower (just not faster, of course, because it would defeat the purpose), but the one who crosses the finish line first wins. You guys game.....?
9.00 - 9.49 index
9.50 - 9.99 index
10.00 - 10.49 index
10.50 - 10.99 index
11.00 - 11.49 index
11.50 - 11.99 index
12.00 - 12.49 index
12.50 - 12.99 index
13.00 - 13.49 index
13.50 - 13.99 index
^ The idea here is to know your car well enough to select the proper index, and to keep the sand bagging between racers to a minimum. Everyone agree to this....?

Doesnt matter to me either way....GOAT MEAT TASTE LIKE CHICKEN!!!
It really shouldn't matter, anything can happen. How badly did you beat Paul's other Grand National, when his car is clearly faster than your GTA (for now). Anything can happen, so choose your index wisely guys....

I'll take them Dave, I've had some stuff to give you anyways as well. I have brand new springs, locks and retainers. How are the valves, any damage to them? Only one good thing came out of pulling the heads off, engine's a 406. Disregard the pic (took it immediately after the head was pulled), as the pistons now look brand new after they were cleaned up....

So Save Your Money and Go and Buy 15 more Power Adders, If you look at Your Time slip It ONLY states Your Time Not How many ADDERS You Have....and Low 10s Don't get it Done V6 .....Frank

everything is good to go on the heads seats and valves were redone
and i forgot i got brand new std rockers with 60 miles on them u can have with them if u want them 1.5 ratio
yeah i have much better pictures i just gota find them those pics are from when i first started the work on them, u seen them in person already though, they are the heavier early 882's more meat then the later lightweighet version, depending on the year of ur 400 they should be the same heads u pulled off

I didnt realize who you were...But now I have to guess that the blue/Green GTO at the track Sat was yours...lol..
Dont take too much offense to the Power adder thing,You gotta do what you gotta do to get those GTO's to actually go fast...lol.
From what I have seen...It looked like low 10's would in fact get it done....I see you will be picking the 9.5 to 9.99 class...Did you find room to actually ad another power adder on there?...
I will be going for my comp License in a few weeks(Car is @ wildrides getting the cage finished)...If you like,I will let you know when I will be there..Will probably be a wed.Or fri nite...I will be in a white T type..Full weight street car(PUMP GAS).If you would like to line up for shitz and giggles..I would be all for it.Should be fun.
Oh yeah...And that will be a single turbo V6... with Overdrive and A/C..lol
rob is that 400 cammed or something that u pulled the stud out like that? we can remove the press in studs int he heads i have and put in screw in studs or pin the pres sin studs if u want

No, the cam is very mild. The putz that had the car before me had the valves set way to tight. You don't have to do that bro, honestly, the heads are more than enough, and the stock press in studs are fine. Gotta order valve seals too. Just want to get the car back on the road asap so I can get it to and from the track again. Are the heads by the shop, or by the house....?
there at the shop i gota run a roll threw all the ports real fast they rusted up slightly from being freshly ported and sitting for a few years but it will only take a few mins to do, hell some wd-40 on a rag would prolly take the rust out of the ports. hit up advance or autozone hell even pepboys they should stock the valve seals
hmm i donno if this was the smartest move on my part but
i just bought myself a 150 shot nitrous kit dual nozzle wet kit
its a shame i wont have it in my hands intime for friday but it will be going on the car soon as i get it though ill prolly jet it down to to 75.but then again u know me so i may just leave the car at 7 psi and hit it with a 150 shot for shits and giggles
btw who has a permit and can take the bottles to get filled for me and what the hell do i have to do to get the permit??
hey i will be going to the shop tom rob to prep the car for the track,it looks liek paul may be able to tow me out to e-town so im gonna go tidy up some **** on the car and get it preped if u will deff be at the track i can bring the cyl heads with me.
if we go its gonna be a grat night coupler problems have been solved, and im looking to crank the piss out of the boost tom.
i just recently went over some previousl time slips on shwans run he was .300 better out of the hole and .500 better at the 1/8th mile but down dam near 6 mph
the time shawn ran should have been dam near .700 better and up 7-12 mph on the top end
if i can get the car sorted tom we could be looing at some serious 12 secon passes on low boost
^ Yeah man, if it doesn't get rained out, bring them with ya. I'll try to get there somehow to pick them up lol. Who's running the car tonight, Shawn again? Ask him to bring the camera....
