Very nice ride. Burgundy has always been a favorite color. Need some 85-87 correct IROC rims to finish it off. IMHO
Is it box stock? Oh, and that thing about the t-5, forget it, they will both be the same inside.shawn

yeah am pretty sure it is stock, called the previous owner this afternoon with more questions and that was one of them. he had replaced the roof 2 years ago was repainted 4 years ago no bondo anywhere. but for now will stay as it is to quote you , got plenty of time so little money. need to build a garage for it first then fluff up the ride some afterwards.
ha I changed my previous post because I thought I was dumb to ask. I am from Winchester so that isn't to to far. My car has a carb instead of TBI and the windshield washer motor just died on me! Think I could get it through?
Luckily in mass we (pre 1996) don't have sniffer test anymore, just safety. I converted to a carb also, they don't pop the hood. So just leave that little bit out. As for the washer fluid, I went to get my car inspected without the whole tank or any lines hooked up, I may have been lucky though cuz I passed. A new motor is cheap enough it might be wise to get one just in case. Like I said, the guys there know muscle cars, talk nice leave a tip and they'll remember.
Thank for the advice on where to go... I asked a friend and I went to a place with some nice guys... They told me I shouldn't have passed but I got the sticker and he liked the fact I am young and put the car together myself. My fuel pressure regulator was leaking a little bit and the E-brake was a little loose.
I am having way way to much fun with my Camaro... It has to be the most rewarding experience I have ever had considering I had done very little work on cars before I bought my roller and put the drivetrain together. The 305 really woke up with the 4bbl carb conversion. The engine is a 87 or 88 that was originally mated to the 5 speed tranny, so it has some power potential being the higher powered version. I am happy with it now but I might do a cam and heads because they are readily available for not to much. Of course my daily was a Mazda3. It feels really strange to step on the throttle and have the car actually start moving.
My project Camaro is going in the shop for exhaust, bodywork and paint at the end of the month. Here are some pics of the car. But since the pics were taken, I've finished installing the black interior and new to me gray seats. I replaced the racing belt with black seat belts and the hatch was replaced with a glass hatch.
The car is going to be painted bright white with charcoal grey stripes.
Hi, I'm 15 miles up in the hills out of Northampton. I have a 83 that someone put a 305 tpi / 5 speed into. Ugly little car but for $800 it starts at 10 below. It don't go too good in snow with the TA Radials but if it nasty I don't go anywhere anyway. You all going to hate me, I bought it for a winter beater while I redo my 49 Ford F1. I was so impressed with the Camaro engine that I got a 350 tpi out of a 88 Trans Am to put in it.

I thought I was putting this in the Northeast Thread but don't know how to move or delete it

I live in Whitinsville MA, haven't had a Third gen in a number of years, but recently acquired an 87 IROC. Needs a bit of work, but it has a decently built 350 at least.
Here's a pic or two...
Obviously the nose is incorrect. Previous Owner was supposed to include one from a '91 RS with the sale (along with seats and a hood) but is being 'slow' in getting that to me (That's putting it very nicely).
Car does hesitate every time it's given gas. Falls on its face for a sec, then takes off. PO said the carb needs to be rejetted.
Anyone know anything about carbs and wanna be my friend?
Cars sitting in my garage right now with the interior out, awaiting the new stuff
hey all:
am in need of some help to locate a couple of parts i need to fix my convertible top on my 87 iroc. on the first roof bar after the release bar, it looks like i am missing some type of hold down bar or spring??? the bar just flaps in the breeze and is not secure. i got the car this way, so i have no idea what exactly goes there or what it looks like. have tried the chevy dealers and am told this is out of production. have tried numerous speed shops and convertible repair shops with no luck. can anyone point me in the right direction to find what i am looking for??
thanks again
bob

I'll have to keep my eyes open for your car. I work in Pittsfield. Lately I've seen a couple real clean IROCs come out of nowhere that I haven't seen before. There's a nice looking black 86 that I saw on Route 8 this morning, and a couple times now I've seen a real clean stock maroon one.
