Well it has been awhile since I posted anything because my (now 6 year) project is finally back into the works. $42,000 invested so far, my 1990 GTA is FINALLY ready for the paint shop. I want the best paint shop without traveling too far (I live in central Jersey). I have waited a long time for this moment and will not settle. Can anyone recommend a shop for me? Show me pictures!
Paint By Weaver is one of the Best shops around... They do A+++ work on everything under the sun... When my car was painted it was surrounded by Lambos, Rat Rods, and Muscle cars out the azz; all done with precision and excellence ... They are known for custom color and designs well outside the box if thats your cup of tea... Here's their info...

When you call ask for Denny to get some direct pricing.
He's done many third-gens and won't nickle and dime you... Well worth the drive IMHO
Hi, I have an 86 Z28 which I'm just about done with. Car has virtually no body work needed. Door was repainted once and color is a little off. Due to some minor knicks here and there I'm looking to have the entire car redone so that I can begin showing it. Any idea approximatly how much to re-paint the entire car. I'm looking to take off the strips, door handles, locks, grounds effect and virtually everything I can on my own. Want to be sure I really get a good job. Your thoughts ?

could be a few thousand dollars for a good paint job, and even more for better work

My total came to around $5k... But that was for some intense body work and full paint... You really need to get a professional answer on pricing... Depending on what exactly you want done to the car (full rotisserie, rust removal, etc.etc.), it can range from 2500 on up to 10k plus... No matter which way you go he'll exceed your expectations... Lastly and most importantly, he guarantees all his work for the lifetime you own the car; hard to find from most shops...

wtf did u build the mofo from the ground up or wth o.o
I recommend Paul @ RPM Resto and Custom in Hillsborough (http://www.rpmrestoandcustom.com/) for you painting needs. I think he's a bit backed up right now, so if that's the case, you should be able to get in at DJs Restorations in Ewing (http://www.djsrestoration.com/paint.html). Matt, the painter there is also excellent.
If / when you talk to either of them, tell them Justin from the NJ F-Body Owners Association sent you.
I don't have any pics of my old vet but 'Hammer and Dolly" located on airport road in West Milford New Jersey is excellent. Northern area but is worth the trip. Entire shop is run and all work done by the owner and he only does custom work/show car stuff. He changed the color on my '81 vet to '93 ruby red anniversary color and it was show worthy. Awhille back he painted a del sol that took first at Hot Import Nights. Good luck!
