The sad thing about the white t/a is it has a perfectly good lt1 sitting under the hood that they can't sell because it's a cash for clunkers car and there is a government rule that they can't sell engines or heads from these cars. Although there is a pretty nice dash in it.
well, if it's a CFC car, the engine should already be seized, and not worth the trouble of pulling. It is ashame to see what looks like an otherwise nice car discarded like that though.
Because cash for clunkers was a joke, it's only goal was to get people buying cars to save the automakers and the thousands of dealers on the verge if going under... There were a lot of cars that "qualified" that shouldn't have. My mother was interested in trading in her 2003 mazda minivan that had 36,000 miles on it, they just sold it privately for $11,000, and it qualified for cash for clunkers because of it's fuel economy. The dealer kept trying to pressure them to do the cash for clunkers deal, they walked out... A dumb guy I work with traded in a 4 year old toyota highlander that had about 100k on it, he was Still making payments on it, he claims they used the cash for clunkers money to pay off his loan. I hope the dealer just ripped him off and got his trade in for a steal, but he claims it qualified for cash for clunkers... There was an article in the local paper about how many perfectly good vehicles were being trashed for cash for clunkers. It's ok, though we will be paying the bill for decades so we shouldn't worry, Spend spend spend!! What do you do when times are tough? Spend money you don't have... You should have seen the guys face when he came in bragging about getting free money for his car and he found out guys were pissed off about it, he couldn't understand that we were all paying for that "free money".
