i've probably seen your car, i'm in ravenna, lived in aurora for 15 years also. you should come up to giant eagle/A&W here in ravenna on saturday nights. we have an informal gathering that starts about 9 pm. I might have some info that would be useful to you.

Hi, I'm a newly regestered member from Canal Winchester, Ohio ( near Columbus ). I have a 1992 RS Convertible that I bought back in Jan. of 1995 with 61,000 miles. It now has close to 190,000 miles on it and still runs GREAT!!
Damn.. The thread that won't ever die... Well I sold my Camaro back in 2004 with around 206,000 miles on it. I just bought a 1991 Trans Am Convertible last week. It has 156,000 miles on it and I hope it will make it to 200,000 also.
Still in Canal Winchester here....

Ill try and make it out next weekend if possible. i probly wont risk driving the camaro on expired plates though, im having trouble passing e-check.

maybe you should check out LSRacingchips - Home for a good tune, they tuned my car and i passed with no smog equipment and a hollow cat converter. the guy that runs it is local and could probably tune your car around here. what trouble are you having with the echeck? did you fail once already?
id rather not pay for a chip when i could eventually burn my own, but i would still look into it. and echeck is confusing me, i failed before, put a new cat and cat-back on, and failed by more! so either way i think i can pass just by proving that i spent a certian amount of money trying to pass.
Wow, most of you seem to be way up north around Cleveland or Columbus. I am down near Cincinnati. We have a rather large cruise inn on Friday nights in Milford, around 500+ cars show up if the weather is nice. It's actually getting too large to suit me. We also have one on Saturday nights and Sunday nights, but those aren't as large and much easier to get a parking spot. There are even a couple cruises that go on during the week nights but those haven't interested me much. Larry.

what part of the test are you failing? look at your printout and tell me which part says fail. alot of times a failing o2 sensor will make you fail echeck. also another trick, try to go during the day to have the test done when there is the least amount of people. you want as few people as possible so you can get right in while your car is still warm, run the hell out of it and get everything nice and hot then take it in there. i've seen a few people pass simply by doing that.

i put 4 bottles of 91% rubbing alcohol to my have a tank of gas,(thinned down the mix) and turned the timing don't a bit and passed. also ran on highway for 15 mins before. just an idea.
I dont mean to turn this thread into emissions help, but thats for the input. ill be taking it to the test again today, i ran sea foam injector cleaner through it, and ill let it run longer than the 10 minutes it takes to get there, and ill prolly put in some 91% alcohol because a mechanic i know has told me the same thing.
only thing is, i failed the NOx only, and iv read those are caused by high combustion temps, and i thought alcohol burned hotter but maybe cleaner too. i also thought i might try higher octane gas, because higher is supposed to be harder to ignite, maybe burn slower, maybe burn cooler? retarding timing might help too but ill try to pass without doing that.
thanks again maybe ill be able to stop at the revenna car meet tomorrow if i pass today haha.

nox is usually o2 sensor or bad cat converter. let me know if you plan to head up there. here is the problem i see with the alcohol, the higher octane won't let all the fuel burn up. do you know what that does? it washes oil off your cylinder walls and allows the pistons to scar them. my grandpa did the same thing, but it was with some beater *** chevy blazer we didn't care about. he bought a bottle of absolute alcohol, it was 100% and poured the whole thing in the gas tank, yeah it passed... the engine was dead not 6 months later.
that sounds very possible and a little scary, plus i was only planning on having 3 ors so gallonos in the tank at the time so that the alcohol wouldnt be much and wouldnt be in there long. the strange thing is the O2 has less than 500 miles on it and the cat is brand spankin new. when i put the new cat it failed by more! haha, so that just confuses me.
and i wont be able to take it to ravenna tonight due to a brake line failing and leaking, so i decided to re-do all the brake lines and such today and tomorrow.
thanks for the heads up on the possible alcohol side effect

1. Its a V6 Car!
2. If it was a v8 the turbo kit costs more than the cars worth, lol. Its really a piece of crap. Looks like swiss cheese.
3. Its gonna need alot more than a turbo to be cool and fast
I'm coming at my fellow members from Riverside in Dayton Ohio! w00t!! lol. I moved down here from Salem, Ohio.

Hi guys! First post, But I've been reading for months.

Bought my first Camaro over the summer, 1986 Iroc.
It was a failed project that I paid way too much for.

Im from east Dayton and I just got a sweet Firebird off a DaytonFbody guy. It costed me $1200. I got wheel spacers in the mail for the front and I am looking for a 4th gen rear axle. Im gonna put black Z06's w/ Nitto 555's on it. This car has zero rust!! Pics of new car and Camaro in the sig. check em out
ditto on the rear end, and hopefully i get the body work done and prepped for paint. im thinking orange with black stripes, or silver with black stripes, but now im leaning towards midnight blue metallic. i think ima go with the midnight blue, also income tax time i plan on geting some corvette wheels and spacers if i need them.another thing i wanted to do is get a high rise intake with a 4 inch cowl hood.ive got some 3.73's with a posi on the way, should be here within 2 weeks. gotta get a case of beer and a free weekend for that 1.lol. my buddies car is in cambridge and we are currently working on stripping it and pulling the motor and preping it for paint. our cars will be identical, only difference will be the wheels and ground effects.
Turbocharge attempt #2 for me. I'm going to build a new 350 and put the turbo setup back on the car. Also switching from carb to dfi. Some interior and suspension work as well.

dfi is far superior to carb, you won't regret it. single turbo or twin? what size you running?

i'm gonna add new lca's, relocation brackets, a girdle for my 9 bolt rear end, new axles, DS loop, SFC's. and possibly rebuild my tranny with a kit from pro-built. I might also throw in a new torque arm and probably an adjustable panhard bar.
the blue sounds like a nice color, i was going to do my gta in either dark green metallic or dark blue metallic
