Thompson Drag Raceway opens up in early April. Anybody from northeast ohio wanna go to test and tune when it opens? I think it's 10 bucks to get in and run, might be 15. And for all you people that have heard about the hill at the finish line, it's not there anymore. They redid most of the track the past 2 winters.
Alright my GTA is back up and running. Hopefully I don't break it before the race season starts. Any of you guys ready to waste some ricers at thompson or quaker with me? Gonna run a couple weeks with my mostly normal setup then i'm gonna switch to some lovely mods and hope to go 12's.
Parma ohio here. I go to a few shows once in a while and to the track usually to watch friends or somthing. My car is too slow, so after i get my new engine going i'll be a reg at Norwalk. Cant wait for spring now, it's going to be great having a fresh trans and new engine pushing around. Check you guys later.
nice to see evreryone is finally talking on the ohio boards!! Ive been trying to find some of you guys for the past year to get toegther and go cruising. I live in Norwalk ohio (3 mins from the drag strip). We should all meet up somewhere this summer or whenever it gets warm out again. Here is my car dont know if anyone has seen me around or not... the grey one is tomster 03 he lives out in wakeman ohio.
hey I live in bryan its a few hours from norwalk but me and the other thirdgen guys around here would be up to maybe meet at the drag strip we usually go down there once or twice a summer anyways.
Thats cool i am out there every wed and sometimes fridays so hopefully i see some of you guys out there this summer. Anyone thinking about going out west for third gen nat 04?

Hey, I'm a few miles south of Edgerton.
I'd like to meet up with whomever sometime if it can be done.
Looking forward to it.

Hey that would be great, we useualy hang around bryan alot, wed nights we usually go hang out up at the cruize in on the square theres some guys from wauseon with thirdgens that come over every now and again, say you wouldnt happen to own a teal green rs would you? I ve only ever seen a car with a hooker cat back in this area and it was a teal green rs that was heading north on st route 15 laste yr out by the turnpike exit 2.
Yeah, that was probably me, thats my car alright.
Tell you what, I'm probably what you would consider an old fart...so I don't get to hang out a whole lot, but you know how to contact me. Maybe one of these days we can figure something out. I don't even have my car out yet this year, but maybe soon PM me some time as the weather gets a little better; it'll be cool to meet up with some other thirdgenners from the area.
where is bryan from sandusky? how many hours? I would be interested in meeting up with you guys also.... Here is a link to a thread that i posted pics from norwalk dragstrip from last year just to give you an idea of what its like if you have never been there. http://www.thirdgen.org/techbb2/show...hreadid=222611 (Pictures from Norwalk Ohio)
We are roughly 3-1/2 hours west of you in the very northwest corner of the state. It would be a pretty full day to go there and back, not that it isn't doable.
And Norwalk looks at least as well run as I pictured it. I've said in the past that Norwalk was a little too far for me, but maybe on the right day...

I'm a little confused...Do you mean out west to ThirdGen Fest '04, or Midwest ThirdGen Gathering '04, or EAST to ThirdGen Nats '04?
I might go to ThirdGen Nats '04 or Midwest Gathering '04, I'm keeping my options open for now. Thirdgen Fest is out because I have a running commitment on Memorial Day weekend for the forseeable future.
if you guys are up for it, the is an american iron series race april 2-4 at mid-ohio. camaros, mustangs only. (basically watch the camaros kick some ***) i'll be there, maybe we all could meet up and have a cookout there that weekend. that would be cool. thanks, Pat
All this time here, and I missed this post? WTF? I must be slippin', lol. Anywho, I'm from Trotwood, actually north west Dayton.

Hey, Another new member here - Im from ashtabula,Ohio - right up by the lake.. I just finshed paintin my 89 Trans am and I hope the weather gets nice soon so I can drive it!
ok winter is about to brake and guess what guys!!! that means two things...1 are cars are ready to get the dust blown off them and 2 the race track opens.... now here is what the problem is... im tierd of hearing all the talk about the people wanting to start meats but it never happens.... i want this to work out this year.. on the second page of this ohio post there is people from all over the ohio area wanting to meet up.... now how hard is a little drive to the drag track i mean come on ... now one of the biggest drag tracks in ohio is norwalk race way.. sounds like a good place to meet to me.... norwalk has a HUGE i mean HUGE pit area "this is a great place to barbaque too" i would love to set somthin up.. you dont evon have to race just go.... i would like to get to meet some of you in person and check out cars... now the 2 days the track is open to the public to race is woopAss wensday and test and tune friday.... fridays are cool cause you can pick and choose who you race theres no dail in and if you loose you can still race.. but there is no winnings and its just that test and tune.. wensdays is dail in racing wich is fun but like i said you loose your stuck on the bench watching... so i thought the friday racing would be better considering we will probley have alot of bigginers and it is always fun to get to race your buddie... if you email me tomster03@aol.com id be glad to give you more info on it i already made this a LONG post and people are going to get bored readying it.... track cost last year were $10 to race or watch they might be $12 this year.. and i really dont think that is a bad price for the quality of the track... i might be able to talk to the race way if we get enough people to evon have somthing organized for us.... please right me..... i want to get somethin set up for us thanx ~tom

Yep, we go through this every year and every year nothing happens. 3GO, midwest forum, has a group who does get it together. We had a meeting already this year and all were invited from here as well. A second one is in the works. Maybe this year will be different for TGO. I'd suggest starting another thread strictly for the proposed meet/gathering.
And thanks Tom for bringing this up now. It's never to early to think of it. I know when I see my spring bulbs trying to open, it's almost time for the camaro to come out from being for the most part stored overwinter.
theres a bunch of us northeast ohio people that got together back in feb. We all talk over at www.3rdgen.org in the midwest section. As for a large meeting for all ohio people... why not make it at national trailway park or whatever it's called down in columbus? They race the pontiac nationals and the professionals there. I'm sure that would probably be the best spot since it's right in the middle of the state. I doubt many of the people in the southern part of the state would want to drive 4+ hrs all the way to norwalk, I know I wouldn't want to.
Im still here..... Been busy working on the car, trying to get it together, just went down to tallmadge ohio to summit yesterday. Almost got everything to put it back together. Im up for a meet anywhere, im willing to drive but i think norwalk would be a good place but i also live there soooo ya know.
norwalk is a great track. But i know there are alot of people on here from cincinnati, dayton, and other very southern areas of the state. If i lived anywhere down there I know i wouldn't drive to norwalk. I just suggested columbus since the track is great and it's right in the middle of the state.
yeah i dont really know anyone from these boards that is from around here, i see guys driving thirdgens around town and all but none of them really look like they would be intersted meeting up. Im willing to drive to colombus but thats about as far south as i would want to go, that would be way tooo much gas.....
my buddy jamy lives in new philly. He burns custom chips for cars. You should get ahold of him if you're ever looking to have a custom chip burnt for your car. Good price and good service.
right by 5 points? Cool.
I live on 39 right outside of city limits.. right across the street from rosenberry's towing.. You run a shop? i might have to stop down after i finish the Z..
i do not run a shop i just tune cars that are in need of it. Im very schooled in the ways of tpi. what are the specs on your car. sorry for the delay in response but ive been away on vacation at the beach. maybe ill see ya around this weekend, its going to be in the 70's finally. what color is your car.
My car is half primer, half black! it' won't be finished until late May, but i know it's going to need some serious tuning!
I couldn't get it to start today! arghhh
305tpi, set of flowtech headers, dynomax exhaust, nothing too special because i'm only 17, i can't afford it!
I am from Parma and am actually one of the guys that is willing to meet at the track. Nice to pit and race with other guys. Once my subframes are bought and in, i will be at the track. Probably like 2 weeks. I am equal distance from Thompson and Norwalk so I will post on like a Monday if I am going to be going the following weekend. I want to get out to the track so if anyone is racing soon let me know and I will take the Trans AM out just to watch. -John
i'll be ready to go in a week or two. I'm doing my swap tonight and tomorrow with jamy. Then I need to tie down the battery, find where my rear end is leaking and then I'm ready to race. If I can pass tech with no ds loop. Hopefully I can get away with it. Also need to put in my tranny cooler and shift kit sometime. I don't have SFC's either. But from what I was told you don't need them unless you're putting down serious power... 12's isn't serious power so i'm not worried yet.
Hey guys, i'll be ready in about 2 weeks. Not to race but ill be on the road. But i live right in norwalk so ill go to the track just to watch. My engine is all together and is now sittin in the engine bay, finally got the long tube headers and starter to fit tonight. Not too much longer
swap is done. big thanks to jamy for all the help. As soon as I fix a couple minor little problems and have him burn me a new chip i'll be ready to race. Come on 12's..
Hey all you Dayton area peeps, for a get together, look into HERE I'm there, Fyrelance, Kevs86T/A is there. Not sure if Shifty Capone is there, be we also post over at Dayton F-Body too. We're looking into a gathering soon, and Third gens outnumber everyone else . Recently there was the Great American Cruise '04 that we took part in along w/some peeps from KY,GCFBA & COFBA.
Good Times
