No, I haven't heard, Please fill me in!!! Getting ready to drive my Camaro to Minnesota! (not moving there though, I like the Marietta area). Was going to drive my Supra because of the 32 MPG it gets, but the alternator crapped its self last night! So getting ready to change the oil and go over the car to get ready for the trip. I figure it will probably cost me close to $200.00 for gas to make the roughly 1000 mile trip.
whats in minnesota? Going to visit somebody? I had 2 cousins just move out there because of work. They said they love it. For the raffle check out this site, www.ellenborowv.com. Last year I won 1k cash, no taxes. Almost all of my family goes down for it.
Going there for work! I have noticed a car show that goes on there at Ellensboro once a year, do you know anything about it, ever been to it? Is there anyone that goes there that has an awesome third gen that you know of? I would love to be able to put mine there some day, but still need a little bit a work before I could even begin to to get it ready for a show, but would love to go to the show in Ellensboro, it looks like from the road there is a lot of good stuff there!
don't know anything about that car show, next time I talk to family down there i'll ask them about it. My grandpa goes down there alot so he might have some info on it. If I find out anything i'll let you know.
If you guys want an Ohio (all of Ohio not just a region) GM site check out GMSCO.org: http://gmsco.org/phpBB2/index.php Everybody is cool. They added a forum for trucks. I want an F-body forum but I am the only one who has one currently. The majority has J-bodies, but all GM cars and trucks owners/entusiast are welcome. Besides I have an F and a J-body. I am Devilz_z24 over there.
OK, Thanks, I would appreciate it. I just got to Minnesota, and the Camaro ran like a champ! I couldn't be happier about that! Now if something could be done about the gas prices in Illinois and Wisconsin, life would be good!
hey clippjr your the one that siad you tuned prom's right? well ive changed plans im going boost! so when my cars done i'll be running a 749 ecm more than likely. Or megasquirt who knows
hey guys, newb here from Lorain, about 45 minutes(roughly) from downtown Cleveland. About in the middle of Sandusky and Cleveland, right up by the lake.
I know of a couple really good spots for cruise-ins on the weekends. Let me know if you're interested in attending(they're weekly). All are within about a half hour of me.
alright, these are just the ones my parents and I attend(my dad's got a 1956 210 Sedan with a 454).
Friday nights from 5-8:
Big Lots
1020 E. Broad Street
Elyria, OH 44035
Saturday nights from 5-9:
Avon Commons
35980 Detroit Rd
Avon, OH 44011
(above is just a store in the Avon Commons. It is only for directions to the Commons. It is not where the cruise-in is held.)
Sunday nights from 5-9:
Quaker Steak and Lube
4900 Transportation Drive
Sheffield Village, OH 44054
the one I/we go to most often is Quaker Steak, although I didn't travel there tonight because of rain
Originally posted by MechCD Is that the Quaker Steak and Lube out by the Cobblestone movie theater? If so, it's about 15 mins from where I live going down RT 2.
yes sir. There were quite a few third gens there last week.
However, I won't be there this week. I've got my graduation party! But that equals money for the 'Maro so I'm happy!

Yea I'm from Brecksville. How old are you and whats your last name? I've grown up in Bville and hardly see any 3rd gens in this area other than one of my friends 88 IROC
I know a guy that does frame work but he's pretty expensive since all he does is pro street cars and hot rods But he put mine up for pretty cheap since i've known him for a really long time. He's in Madison, Oh just outside of Trenton and Middletown
yeah we're still here. I just kinda got sidetracked on my new project car. I recently acquired a 79 Z28 that's in really good shape. But I haven't neglected my project Iroc it's just coming along slowly since it's been so hot out. And my dad's garage is alot cooler than mine
My car won't be done for a while I lost my job and i'm just now starting working again I've got alot of bills to pay. But i've got my 87 Iroc and my 79 Z now probably next spring would be good to meet up. After I have some time to get my other Iroc built
Moved out to Ohio in February (little slow in posting, I know) after graduating college. Red 87 GTA still a work in progress. Now that I have a job I hope it gets done sooner. Originally came from NW Indiana.
looking good I haven't made much progress on mine since I've been doing bodywork. 9 layers of paint and a DA sander that sucks more air than my compressor has makes for slow work. Along with other complications and having to replace parts on my dads vehicle due to uhaul.... Just didn't make for a very productive spring/summer. I haven't built my engine yet. Actually I've sold about everything I had for it do to changing ideas, and lack of money. Hope you guys are doing a little better.
Glad there are people in Ohio. I'm thinking about moving from Indiana to Columbus Ohio, can you guys tell me if you have a vehicle inspection for the state. Is it just visual for do they test the exhaust. My cat is there but I know that there is no way it would pass emissions
From the searching I did when I moved out to Ohio there are only 14 counties that require emission testing. Some are up around Akron/Cleveland and I know some are down near Cincinatti. If you do a search online for ohio emissions you should find out exactly which ones have it and which ones don't. I managed to stumble upon it. I was able to get Collector plates for my GTA and bypassed the emissions.
how did you get collector plates for your GTA? I called columbus and they said the 87 GTA wasn't eligible unless, less then like 8000 were made or you had more then 5k in receipts for the car.
we have emissions in portage county where I live, it's only a sniffer inspection and a cat inspection though. All they do is check to see if you have a cat and run your car up to 25 mph. For the OBD-II cars all they do is just plug into your aldl plug and see if you have any codes. My car has none of the smog stuff but i still pass.
Luckily I had saved all my receipts for all the parts and work that I had done to my GTA over the past few years, which happened to be over $5k. If you can show proof of investment (receipts) and show you have a second car then you can get collectors plates for it. Sent copies of the receipts along with pictures and the plate form and a couple weeks later I had my plates.
with jamys tuning ability, i'll make it through echeck even with a highly modified motor and no smog equipment. I'm just gonna stick it out for another 2 years until they get rid of echeck. It's free to do after the 1st of the year anyways, no more 19.50 fee. We can thank all the cig smokers for that.
