We had some interest on another post to get a BBQ together for a bay area gathering. We will do it on Saturday July 17th at 11am till whenever. Alameda seemed to be a fairly central point for most involved. I know a nice spot on Bay Farm Island in Alameda with a killer view and the cars can be within 30 yds of the bbq site. If there are any other suggestions of a killer spot within Alameda area throw out your suggestions. Once we have agreed on a park I will post directions or a map. Also once we have an idea of how many people we can work out a few more details on food and drinks.
So far looking good. I am hesitant on the pot luck becuase of the way some people have a tendancy to say there going somewhere and then not show up. Well if thats the guy with the charcoal, or the soda's or meat, it could be a major pain. So for now lets play it by ear, if we decide to designate potluck we really don't need to do that until about a week before the event.
If your third gen isn't running, or sold or whatever who cares come on out and have some fun. The way I see it, its just as much a gathering of any kinda car enthusiast and those who use this board.
Allrighty Then this is looking good, I might be bringing my Fiance and two kids age 6 & 8. So if you got kids bring them they will be more than welcome.

Oh I donno I might bring a few heads.
You know if I didn't see something like that in real life I would think it was funny. I went to this party a couple years back and the adults (if you could call them that) started getting there kids to fight. At first it was all in fun then people started getting all serious and the men were pushing there kids to beat the crap out of each other. It really turned my stomach, I had to leave.

Okay, Updated list... can everyone look over it and see if the right number of people is noted. If someone said 1 or 2 I just assumed 2... few people haven't said if they are bringing anyone.
As for food arrangements, how are we going to do this? I know some of us are kind of leary of a potluck, because someone bringing something important may not show... so what should we do...?
everyone should just chip in some money when they go,then a few peeps go and get some meat, chicken or whatever,so no one depends on anyboby for food, just my 2 Cents
Its all about the love anyway bro! Our cars are all a work in progress, never be ashamed of that! Hope to see you and some of these other new faces out there
Will

As for paint, or how your car looks, don't worry about it, It's all about the love for our cars, Most of our cars are a work in progress anyways. Look at me, almost all stock, leaky valve seals and all... lol.
Truthfully I don't really care if you have a thirdgen running, just as long as your interested in them, and are around the boards. It'll just be fun to meet up with guys who have the passion for cars as much as we do.
im sorry to say i probably wont be posting much on this board anymore, i go ta 4th gen now, its been fun while it lasted. you can see my thirdgen here, and my 4th gen will be up there soon.
Allrighty then! Looks like we are getting quite a good crowd. I went by the spot I was thinking about. It should be perfect for how many people we have. Theres three tables with three pits all within a 20yd radius. I might bring an extra Weber. Big lawn area with volleyball poles if anyone has a net and ball. My only concern is that this is basically a first come first serve deal. Now usually theres nobody using the pits and tables but you never know on any given day. It would be best if we had a couple volunteers (and I will be one) to get out there a little early (maybe 9am) to reserve the spot.
The adress you can use with Mapquest to get directions is
2800 Sea View Pkwy, Alameda.
As far as food goes what I suggest is everyone bring there own meat, drinks, and picnic ware. From there we can all just bring some type of extra dish. Potato salad, Macaroni salad, Tequila, chips dips, etc. etc.
Dogs on leash are ok. Kids on leash are ok.
Cell service can be sporadic depending on your service, so make sure you know how to get there before leaving, instead of hoping to call someone when you get lost, just a precaution maybe your service will be fine, I have Nextel and lost mine.
