Well gang, today I finally got a full day to just work on my 'ROC and I found out what my knock was.
If I pull the #4 cylinder plug wire and rev the engine, it revs, no knock.
If I put it back on and rev it past 1500RPMS or so, knock knock knock.
So anyways I spoke to my engine guru and he stated that I probably have a piston which is rocking in the bore opposed to a rod bearing out because my oil still looks good, still gets good oil psi.
Needless to say, my 'ROC is flying with no motor / trans as we speak.

Well, I'll have the block back by next week supposedly all built up and I guess the time down depends on whether or not I want to do that T56 swap while everything's out
Plus I have an extra T5 + shifter & shift plate that I am selling, and I already have a buyer for my complete T5 that's in the car now, so that practically pays for my T56
Will do man, I appreciate the support everyone on here has given me
The only problems I really see are the fact that I want to keep my stock speedo. How accurate is that Cable X thing? Is there any other way to go around that or did you install the Autometer Electric gauges?

well i currently dont have a speedometer
but i talked with david and he said its dead on accurate so ill get one eventually but its been so long i know my speed by rpms and gear.
essential tools for a 6 speed conversion
tinner snips, dremmel, lots of cut off disc's and bits and enlarging holes, impact gun for flexplate removal, clutch alignment tool, and tranny jack
I can do without a lot of gauges in my car evidently as my speedo gear broke on my T5 and I was doing the exact same thing, just going by my tach.
Plus my gas gauge has never worked. But I'll save that for when I get a new sending unit and 255lph pump and my rear springs so I can do it all in 1 shot.
My speedo is also not accurate right now, I also go by my tach. My speedo issue is not only the cable is bad but my speedo gear is the wrong one. I have heard they are accurate when they are working right and in good shape. Would rather have the Autometer electric ones but they are a lot of $. Nice pics, looks like things are coming along. Good idea on doing the sending unit, fuel pump, etc. all at once. I am putting in a new gas tank and fuel pump, etc. all at once some time this summer.
