Alright ch'all i need help

i being working on my iroc swapping out the 305 for a 350. got it all in and hooked up can't get it to start thought maybe i had the dizzy 180 out but it's not the case changed the whole dizzy out for another one i had still nothing when i switched the dizzy opposite of how i had it i could hear like slight backfire while cranking i have NOT changed the esc or the prom but that shouldn't prevent it from starting any help would be appreciated

check for the basics. timming, fuel , air, spark. i dont know is the 305 has different fuel maps so you might need to play with the computer for a bit.

that doesn't make sence. did you really just add water and and it started leaking oil? or did it crank over and then start leaking oil?

if its coming from the oil filter area could be a loose filter, or the oil pressure sending unit could be loose. that could also be why it wouldn't start ecm needs to to oil pressure to pulse the injectors, right? some one correct me if Im wrong

pull the pass side valve cover, than turn the crank until the line on the harmonic balancer is at 0' of the timing marker if the #1 rockers are loose than your at #1compression stroke than where the rotor is pointing is where #1 is at. and set your firing order

ok found the oil leak it is between the block and the oil cooler i had someone crank it while i was under it on ramps soon as they stopped crank oil came running out but the engine didn't have the oil cooler on it so i took it off my old engine i removed did i do something wrong??? is there a special gasket or something for it?

when you were cranking did you get any oil pressure? if its below 10psi( i think) the car wont let you start. and also check all the ectrical connections.

well i got the oil leak problem solved just had to take off the oil filter and tighten up the bolt on the oil cooler then found TDC again and got it started up but now there is another problem i will post it up tomorrow evening after i get off work
