BBK Turtle Back TPI intake....

Hey Travis; I don't know if you've checked back on the BBK design since they teased us back in 2004, but there's a list going for those who want one and fresh replies from one of the BBK brothers to 3rd Gen subscribers. He hasn't posted flow numbers yet, but actual testing/tweaking is apparently going on right January 2008 now-
thought you might like to know. Nitro

If I didnt already have an intake I would probably go for it, I like new things..
On the other hand, I might not have got one for particular supercharging reasons

Re: BBK Turtle Back TPI intake....

I'm only interested if it comes painted green and flows 300+cfm per runner. Otherwise, what does it accomplish that other commercially available intake manifolds don't?

This looks like an easier install than a stealthram and a basic bolt on I can handle, excited to see it become available!

I hope he meant the Super Ram.

Plus it will be CA legal so we will have a choice other than the Super Ram.

Re: BBK Turtle Back TPI intake....

This product has been talked about for at least 3-4 years now.
I would've hoped for some more concrete data by now.
It appears closer to being released, but the BBK rep who posts here only said "as soon as possible".

TPI for life!

Why would this be any better than a Super Ram?

Re: BBK Turtle Back TPI intake....

It still has a TPI-style base so I can't see it making substantially more power than other available TPI intake systems (though I do wonder if the entry angle and port cross section are better/bigger on the BBK). I would imagine price and ease of use would be the main selling points. If I had to deal with CA smog on a TPI car, I'd consider one since the Super Ram is such a PITA to assemble.

There are other forums???!? While some might consider reading a 15 page thread about a TPI intake a good idea, I can't say that I have been that bored.
