Kinda new to the area, dont know where any good salvage yards out here are. I live in a town called visalia , its by lemoore, hanford, fresno. Im willing to travel a little bit of course, but im looking for a 3rd gen graveyard or a yard that has a healthy supply of 3rd gens. ALso fair on prices, ive gone to some yards and they want 3x the price of the part new.
Thanks for posts in advance, and i did search, all my local yards are trash, there more into cubing the car then parting it.
Id like to find a 350, maybe a rear end, some parts i need to repair, like my head light carrier, just a bunch of stuff that if i got it at the dealer ship or shittyzone would cost me a leg. Yea ill post some pics in a min of my ride .
Here are some pics, most are of things i need to fix hence a junkyard, like the main bezel has a crack in it, musta happened recently cuz i did not see it when i changed my dash pad and speakers up front out.
any comments are welcome , still looking for boneyards with 3rd gens!
tell me about it, they have cars and trucks, that are in worst shape then my own. Back home in indiana we have plenty of bone yards, damn recycling is gimping me here, lots just wana cube up the cars and get there 300$
Another reason to add to the HUGE list of why I hate california :/
"no offense to peeps that like it here"
Its just an open air element you can pick up at your local autozone. Think it was like 40-50 with the cheapy air filter, gonna find a k&n for it one of these days. Only problem with it, you gotta modifiy the air inlet temp sensor. It has a hole for it, but if you pop the predrilled hole out its too big, so i just drippled a smaller hole put some superglue on the base of the AIS and it works perfect, why super glue ? the sheet metal is to thin to hold the AIS using its threads, it works fine for me
Oh and you need to move your coil pack, it will be in the way of the base sitting flat and the throttle cable, took about 30 mins to install this and modify it.
if memory serves me right pick a part and or pick a pull are off of hw99 around downtown fresno, its been about 2 years since ive bee back "home"
theres one in fresno downtown by the graveyard thats relatively newer.
my info is probably a bit outdated or slightly wrong as i stated before.
the one by the graveyard had a few F-bodys but that was a while ago. i liked the one off of i think it was 99 and jensen ave? its down the street from the mcdonalds, and in n out burger and i think a motel 6
there's a pick-n-pull off of jensen and 99 in south fresno. i will say this, i've probably been in that yard 8-10 times and was pissed that i spent a $1 to get in everytime. a little farther up on the north side of madera there's another pick-n-pull yard. it's divided into two sections (i.e. older cars and newer cars). the newer side costs a little more to get into if i remember correctly. however, i was actually able to find stuff there (paid to go into both sides). having said all that, save yourself a lot of trouble and locate the stuff you need online via ebay or the classifieds here. over the years, i've purchased many things for my car on ebay. good luck!
Yea i do alot of online shopping, but it can be risky at times. like i just bought a whole steering suspension setup and it came with different part numbers on things that shoudla been the same now i gotta send it back and wait longer.
Ill try that second lot and take ur advice on the first lot. Thats weird you gotta pay to get in to a pick n pull lol,
Is there a time limit in the pick and pull or is it ever time you leave/ enter you gotta pay? cuz i can spend all day in a yard.
I was there this weekend. If your looking for any 350 parts forget about it. Its mostly v6 cars, but as far exterior or interior parts their plentiful. Pick n Pull is on Jensen and 99 then further down u can find Pik a Part. Both in the same area.
Last time i went to pick a parts in fresno they had 1 third gen camaro. Luckly enough for me it had the sunvisors which i needed so it worked out quite well though almost everything else was stripped already.
