'88 IROC update

So I finally got tired of my Harley being my only mode of transportation to work. It's so much more fun to ride when you want to, not when you have to. I paid a local shop $500 to replace the fuel pump, fuel filter, and wiring to the sending unit(that was destroyed by the Walbro 255lph pump). It would've taken me all day and many frustrations. They had it done the next day and I've been driving her to work since then. She still burns oil, and the trans feels weak to me. I plan on eventually re-building the Santa Rosa motor(or having it professionally built) and doing a 5 speed manual swap with a lighter driveline(alum or carbon fiber). In the meantime, I'm driving her daily to work like a sedan, not a sports car. I'm not complaining, because many people can't afford to drive their cars these days.

Re: '88 IROC update

I am picking up my new commuter on the 18th... Getting a new Scion Tc to cruise back and fourth to work. I can't keep driving my Camaro daily, it is driving me nuts, too far away from a normal driver, more geared towards racing, so a little economy car sounded like a better deal. The Yukon sucks for mileage, my 57' is still primered so bad weather is a no-go, the 69' is yet to be driveable....My wife drives the Lexus.... I am selling the 3/4 ton Chevy and buying this thing. You need another Eclipse !

Re: '88 IROC update

I don't want to slam imports, but I learned last month that our family will never be a small car/truck family. I will have to cut corners elsewhere to afford my full size Chevrolet cars and trucks. Besides, the $$$$ I'd save in gas wouldn't offset the DMV fees & insurance on a new car. If I do get a new(er) car, it would probably be the 5th gen Camaro. I'm waiting to see if they'll offer it as a Z/28 with the 500+hp motor though.
