I am thinking of yanking the engine and trans. out of my Camaro and selling the roller.... What sort of price would be considered ballpark? The car is near perfect condition, never wrecked, zero rust, has only been outside overnight 3 nights since new ! There aren't even any door dings..Has not seen rain in almost 8 years. I know I'll probably regret selling it if I do, but I have too many cars and am burned out on this one.

Gauranteed to be the cleanest Camaro anywhere around here. Find one as nice and cheaper, I bet you can't. Absolutely zero rust, not a door ding, etc. I got the first rock chip in the paint on the hood about a month back, maybe about a quarter inch in size...that's the only "damage" the entire car has.
I could care less if some don't agree with the $, I won't sell it for less, I will say that! If I keep it forever, so be it. I have about 16k under the hood alone... I am just sort of burned out on the whole thirdgen thing and would rather drive my 69' Camaro. I have been driving my 57' quite a bit and like the classic scene much more. I still love my blue car, just ready for change...

That's all understandable, Jason. However, how many guys have you ever heard talking about a sweet machine they used to have and how they've been kicking themselves in the arse for ever getting rid of it. If your car is cherry now coming up on 20 years old, how hard do you think it will be to replace 5-10 years from now.
I say tuck it up in a corner somewhere and 10 years from now you'll be glad you had the foresight to listen to some good advice.

I don't doubt you have 16k into it nore do I doubt that it's clean (take ur word for it). Fact of the matter is it's a 3rd gen Camaro and you must not know what they blue book for. It's not about you not selling it for less it's about you not selling it at all. Good luck i guess...you'll need it.
You get rid of that thing now and you'll be kicking yourself for the rest of your life. I agree with all who said tuck it away.
And for those who are hating on his asking price:
He doesn't HAVE to sell it. He's got the keys and he's got the car and if you want it, 12 grand is the ticket and if you don't like it take a walk. If his asking price is as ludicrous as you are making it out to be, then by definition of our economic system YOU should be able to go ELSEWHERE and find a similar item at a better price.
not about me, he could be selling it for 1000 dollars and i'd have no interest, like i want another 3rd gen camaro . The problem is NOBODY will want it for 12k. Prove me wrong, PLEASE
...he could be selling it for 1000 dollars and i'd have no interest
Really? That sounds a little insulting and disingenuous. I guess if that were really true, I'd have to revise my opinion of your judgement.

I'd just point out that NOBODY constitutes A LOT of people. Further, I'm not so sure that it's really a problem...
Don't get me wrong, $12k is a lot for a thirdgen... even a nice one. But hey, he was asked what it would take to part w/ the drivetrain. If you remember, he initially asked for input on a ballpark asking price for the rolling chassis which nobody has responded to.
I was only looking for a ballpark of what it "may" go for.... I don't need to sell it, just sort of tired of seeing it set in the garage collecting dust. My 12k price is just a number that sounds like something worth letting it go for, I could care less what it books for or what other Camaro's are selling for. It would cost over double that to duplicate it and that is only after finding a near perfect car to start with (not easy). No big deal.... I guess it sets as it has been in the garage.

okay, i'd buy it to flip it, since we need to be so technical i ment I have no interest in owning another one of those cars. I'd buy it for a 1000 bux to make some money, happy?

Don't seel it. Mine just turned 20. Your's has a birthday coming up soon too. I still get the thumbs up from people despite the fact it burns oil and has 234k on the ticker. KEEP IT!
How have you been bud? PM me your phone #, I have not spoke with you in a looooong time. I have stopped by the ol' Los Alamos place a few times but never anyone there.... Still at that residence?
