Smoked my clutch messing around with slicks

Who's got the parts connect? I need a twin disc. I'll trade a M-22 rock crusher for a dual disk clutch.

Re: Smoked my clutch messing around with slicks

Just sell it. Without a clutch, it's slow. J/K man, sorry to hear about the clutch. You know what they say, "Smok'em if you got'em." I think they meant the tires though, not the clutch.

Re: Smoked my clutch messing around with slicks

Don & Kevin had a hookup with McLeod a while back, get with them and see if they still do.

I put a Ram powergrip HD in my Camaro and LOVE it ! I don't have slicks, but it grips hard! Drives very nice in town too, not jerky, no chatter that I notice... I would recommend it to anyone. Read my reply in the other post...

Re: Smoked my clutch messing around with slicks

I've now gone through 2 McLeod clutches that Don hooked me up.
I like the dual disc on stock flywheel but still in the $950 range.
SPEC seams to be getting good reviews.

I was looking at the spec stage 3+ but read alot of great things about the RAM PG HD and with a cheaper price, I bought that. The SPEC is supposed to be a good clutch too though ! You may be just fine the with the stage 1 since your motor only makes about 175 horse, right? Maybe 200 on race gas and a good tune?

Get that bad boy going again so we can go Famoso together !!

Man ...if you are killing Mc Leod units, you are really hard on clutches.

Even Vincent can't kill a cheap Center Force and he is murder on parts.

You have to remember the basic unit is all the same, the stuff they use on the disc is what varies.

Except the McLeod unit, the others are all 10.4 or 10.5 the McLeod is 10.95.

This last one was just me being stupid. I was happy with the clutch I just learned a hard lesson using slicks. I'm hoping I can get the pressure plate fixed and a new disc if needed.

I have a TKO 5 speed. I'm thinking of send it out for a check up. 1st to 2nd gets a little hung up sometimes. Hard to get into 2nd when racing.
How have you been?

Re: Smoked my clutch messing around with slicks

It's the new one that came with the clutch...When I get it out I'll look good and hard for all the little things I hear and think about.

My luck got worse and I had to spend last weekend fixing the garage door and washing machine. Broke a spring on the garage door and eventually found that the impeller blades on the washing machine pump are broken and worn down to the exact size of a nickel...imagine that.
It sure isn't my change in the washer cause I don't have any extra.
