Battery Booster trouble

My battery is dead! So i thought i would go buy a battery booster from autozone. Said it has 700amp peak. This was the biggest they had. Thought i would be enough. Let it charge all day yesterday and today. Go and try to jump my car and the starter barley i mean barley turns over. WHAT THE CRAP! So were can i get a higher amp battery booster that you know works?

Re: Battery Booster trouble

how is the fluid level of the battery? All the Sub atomic particles required to transfer between the lead plates might have been used up as well.

Re: Battery Booster trouble

This is a new battery. I have the car parked in the garage. I should be turning it on every week but i dont. I think i let it sit for a month or 2 without turning the car on. The battery is pretty much new still

Why don't you just jump it?

i know they are not sub atomic...i dont remember the word. Take it to autozone and have them test it...might be a bad cell

Re: Battery Booster trouble

Could be a bad battery from the manufacturer, like drinkmorebeer said probably a bad cell. A battery in this condition will do just what you are saying yours does. Try a jump with the battery disconnected and the booster hooked to the battery cables. If it starts the battery is toast, if it does the same check your cables and connections, but the booster/charger may be bad. Oh, also double check and make sure that booster is not a "trickle charge only" model, if it is it could take a few days to fully charge.

Sub atomic particles, I know what you meant, but I can't remember what they are called either. I want to say electrolytes, but i don't think that's right either. I will remember later as I am drifting off to sleep....

Re: Battery Booster trouble

sounds like you killed your battery. if your not gonna drive the car you should get a maintainer. I have one on Mom's 636, bikes only been out a handful of times and still has the stock battery.

Next time just un-hook the bat when you store it. It will keep from killing it over time.

no..... you were right in my book.... electrons are sub atomic particles and are the only things that are actually getting transferred through the wire. The "electrolytes" remain within the battery and it is the electrochemical difference between two different kinds of seperated electrolytes that force the electrons from one section of the battery, through the wire, to the other section.

Re: Battery Booster trouble

I'll make it short. My advice is to charge your battery first then recheck. Battery should reach 13.6 volts after fully charge. Yes, 13.6 volts.

I get my production of Radiation all confused sometimes. We had to know how Transformers and power supplies affected radiation production. Single and triple phase gens on output quality. Electron cloud production by a cathode with transfer to Tungsten anode t74. Electrons replacing electrons of the tungsten creating a ricochet affect producing a penetrating beam.

Batteries was one of them...and i remember from my aviation class about Nic cad batteries. They dont slowly fail like car batteries....as for you cant see the decline. They just drop off.

I want to put my battery in my trunk...but i do not know how everything hooks. The smog system is very intimidating to someone who is unknown to smog. Back home we just rip it all out...but i was Carb setup back then.

Re: Battery Booster trouble

well joey just take your battery to a kragen and ask them to charge the battery heres the kicker our machines are lame and you really have to work them it doesnt like really discharged batterys so i do this all day long

put the charger on manual mode for 1.5 hrs if it doesnt move in 30 mins in cca (cold cranking amps) than its dead . how ever 95% of the time they take a charge its always from sitting too that they get discharged things like radio, ecm, and stuff takes small ammounts of power constantly even with the key off to keep the "memory"

so get it charged up than slap a maintainer on there

this one is good cause it has a cable you can permanatly install on your battery so its a quick connection every time you park the car, also its a maintainer not just monitor.

Re: Battery Booster trouble

if you need a new battery I recommend the marathon batteries we sell at kragen, im not pushing the battery because I work there, but I bought one personally, its the best lead acid battery we sell, and ive killed that thing like 6 times dead back when I was trying to get my iroc started, and that sucker would charge upwards of 900cca every time i recharged it, and its warranty it awesome to boot.
they are rated 690cca in a group 75dt (dual terminal) but like i said, its easy to get 900 out of them and they like to die and be recharged similiar to a deep cycle.
