You need *EVERYTHING* from the LT1 car, including all emissions components and maybe even the gas tank depending on the LT1 is setup, I'm not really sure. Then you have to get it examined by a smog ref who will pick it apart with a fine tooth comb to make sure you got everything from the newer car.
I agree get everything possible. Truthfully I wouldn't waste my time or $$ on an lt1 swap
i don't mind i can get a lt1 with a t56 for 1500 that will outperform my current setup effortless plus they respond better to mods obd2 all the way lol

And spend another grand+ on random stuff as you run in circles trying to track down all the nickel and dime crap you need to make your swap smog legal? You need to think it through a bit more than that. Really the only time you should consider an LT1/LS1 swap for a thirdgen should be if you have a donor car right there next to you to take parts from. $1500 for an LT1/T56 isn't even that amazing of a deal.
go ahead waste your time, your iroc will sit longer then mine, then when you get yours running, we can race.

Well it is a deal i know i can get it for 1200 easy,it comes with the wiring harness and the pcm. I mean I would mod my L98 but it will still be slow compared to a lt1/ls1,i'll have some one do the wiring for me and all i have to worry about is the emission stuff which should be easy

actually stock for stock an LT1 is't much faster than an L98 car. I used to beat most LT1 cars back when my Iroc was running. LT1's have more of a topend than the L98.
I say save your $$$ for a GenIII or put your $$$ in the L98

I've thought it over and im just going to buy the t56 and keep my car an l98 till i get enough cash for the lsx

this reminds me of a story, do you guys remember when we are racing back on florin perkins back int he day my iroc was stock except for the 6 speed swap and i smoked the **** out of that 6 speed stock lt1 doin over 120mph on that road, than when we stopped back at the gas station he asked why i didnt do an lt1 swap as well? i said well i beat you didnt i
dont waste your time on an lt1 swap. seriously quit asking dumb q's and use the search seriously if ur gonna swap do the ls1
