GTG - Sacramento Raceway - May 2009

As suggested earlier today, how about the next GTG at Sacramento Raceway?

We can't take over a lane or anything, but it would be nice to see an alarming amount of 3rd gens on 1 day.

I've posted a poll with several options.

This Wednesday may be a little too soon for folks, but I threw it in there anyways.

Prices vary depending on day. $15-$35-$50

Ideas/suggestions welcome as always too.

Re: GTG - Sacramento Raceway - May 2009

I would go if it was like $15-20 to race. I can go any Wednesday if I have the money for gas. I can't pull Saturdays unless it is a real big GTG that is worth requesting the day off.

Of course!!!! But it has to be secured. I mean secured. I get warn all the time at the track having it in the passenger seat. Track staff looks in the car then say "put that thing in the back seat".

Hey Del. Just got it fixed yesterday (Hopefully) I was thinking of going to the Test and Tune on the May 22. Not to sure yet. I dont want to go if there is going to be alot of people there at the track. I rather spend the 50 bucks to get more than 5 runs in. Well worth it. Plus i havent done anything yet to the car. Lets keep the 22 in mind for now

Re: GTG - Sacramento Raceway - May 2009

I was out spectating for just a couple hours last night at Grudge.

Lots of nice cars out there, running good/bad times.

A pretty lame fight was starting in the pits just as my girl and I were leaving.

I did see Jesse's Camaro make a run out there I believe, giving the crowd some "oohs and ahs", especially when he purged the nitrous.

I'm hoping TNT on Friday 5/22 is a good night to go out and race. Anyone know if they only do single file runs? Anybody planning on going?

I was there till around 9pm and only caught one of your races in that 8 'o hour.

Been a long time since I had seen your car and didn't actually realize it was yours till later.

The last time I saw your Camaro, it was high 10's, horrible rear end and had more mph's than the car could do anything with.

I see you've been busy since then and added the bottle.

Well it was an impressive run I saw and it's always nice to see a 3rd gen get some positive attention.

Now lets work on your attitude meeting those expectations too, eh?

Nice run Jes, pretty inspiring watching those wheels pull.

Wish I could make some track time guys, but I'm not so sure my car is up to it yet. Especially since I have to drive it to and from any track I would run. Some of the parts are still too old to trust taking a beating that far from home, that's a long walk.

Okay. I am having a little oil pressure issue. I wont be going tomorrow. I am sure it is fine. I am thinking the gauge is going out or something. I will probably be out there in a few weeks for sure though.

Wish I could make some track time guys, but I'm not so sure my car is up to it yet. Especially since I have to drive it to and from any track I would run. Some of the parts are still too old to trust taking a beating that far from home, that's a long walk.
thanks bud, appreciate it. Get a buddy with a trailer to take ya up. Buy him lunch and provide fuel and he'll be happy

I can't get to the track during the week. Even tho it's sac i doubt they'd let me do the wednesday night deal....don't really care much for it anyways. Have fun tho, glad to see some other people racing.

Dang. I would have loved to see your car run. I bet it is a rush. Maybe ill get to see it sometime. I hope I get at least a mid 13. With a perfect tune I am hoping to hit a high 12... But I am no where near a perfect tune. I am really hoping to get at least a high 13... haha

I won't be out tonight, but good luck to ya.

You have nice heads/cam/stall, so I would be surprised if you were not at least high 13's after a few runs.

Even if it's your first time, that combo should make some decent power if everything is functioning.

Re: GTG - Sacramento Raceway - May 2009

With everything working perfectly and running good, I would be mad if I didn't get a 12 sec time slip. I think I have a vacuum leak at my stupidram. But I am hoping my 12 sec time slip will be in the future. I am not expecting it any time soon though.

I ran a 2000ish Ls1 Trans Am the other day from a 30 roll and I beat it pretty good. I raced him in drive.

I'll check around here and see what I come up with, don't know anyone off hand with a trailer but there is always U-Haul. It would actually be cool to break something on the track for a change. The last breakage that shut my car down for 6 months was a spider gear that broke trying to back over the 2" tall concrete skirt in front of my shop. Pissed me off good.

Anything going on Thursday night the 21st? I got too much to do to make the drive tonight.

So, just got back. Best run was a 13.7. The best MPH was 103. I Couldn't get any traction. I have video footage of both.

Right on dude. That's a good start. Tranny holding good I assume! Save up some money and get yourself a set of M/T ET street 26X10 on a 16" stock rim or 15" whichever you have/prefer. Those tire will handle more than what your car can put out.....for now.

Fastest ET, rolling on the throttle
http://videos.streetfire.net/video/S...-my_683340.htm

Fastest MPH. I went WOT right at launch and had a little traction issue as you can see.
http://videos.streetfire.net/video/C...-at_683344.htm

The car has much more left in her. This was with drag radials at 25 PSI. Next time I will go lower PSI, I just couldn't find anyone who had a gauge I could borrow.

Re: GTG - Sacramento Raceway - May 2009

That is what I did. I fixed the links.

At 25psi. My best was a 2.1 (first run) but only ran a 14.1. Worst was 2.4 but I get my best MPH (2nd video).

Spent a couple hours datalogging/tuning tonight and unfortunately my car is not running well at all.

Need to go back to basics and get some further diagnostics done before I see any track time.

is it due to the cam? how is it running bad? maybe I can add some FI tuning ideas to ponder? I have learned alot from megasquirt, for FI in general.
