View Poll Results: What type of GTG would you like to attend?
Well? any suggestions?
It seems nobody wants to get together at Sac Raceway.
The Camaro clubs are gathering in a park in Elk Grove.
Travis drove all the way down to LA just to hang out TGO members.
The year is rapidly coming to a close & nothing is happening in the Norcal TGO world

I've been swamped workin' the past couple months, but would surely like to have a GTG within the next 30 days as well.
I'll add a poll to this thread to get an idea of what most people may be down to do. Folks have different $$ ideas and driving distance concerns I'm sure.
You can vote for multiple choices in the poll, so if you're down for a couple options, make it so! Polls close in 10 days, GTG in October??!!
I'm sending an email to the mailing list to attract more interest as well.

I will go as long as we aren't doing anything too expensive.
Whats your budget? You can always donate blood, recycle newspapers, get a paper route, mow the neighbors lawn..... the possibilities are endless if your motivated.
Hey, rather than standing around a parking lot, how about a afternoon road trip? I know of a nice 1-2hr. long two lane highway in the foothills, with virtually NO traffic...45 minutes N of Sac....
My budget is depending on how much work I find, which is usually not too much. I am down for a small gtg, like the Mels one. Maybe even a small cruise... You just have to see that I spend like $45 JUST on gas to get to sac and back.

I have a th400 sitting around that needs a rebuild. It's cursed though and I don't want anyone else to go through what I had to Did have 1st and 2nd when I pulled it, but that was it.
i dont want to race if i have the same setup. I orderd some parts but this guy is being a ****! Not sure if he sent them out. If i get it soon then i will install it as soon as possible

Yes, Saturday would be the ideal day, so probably 10/10, or 10/17?? That gives folks a good 30 day notice to get some $, or up and running.
3rdBird/Marc - I have Oct Sat...17 Grudge Fest on my to-do list since I can't make the 3rd. This could be a good possibility for a GTG, meet up somewhere nearby to eat and BS before racing.
19911le - I'm all for a nice cruise, stopping to eat, etc. I just don't know a good route, but since you do I'll add yours as option 5 and I added 1 more vote to it for myself.
Voters for a Dyno day - Usually a commitment of 10+ is needed for this. I know several shops here, but open to some names being dropped too. SVS, Force Fed, AED. ...unless folks are thinking Bay Area; Newtech, Synergy.
I'm getting some dyno time in on Monday with Keith @Forcefed. I'll talk to him & see whats up for group rates.
His rates are 150 an hour, so 150 x 8hrs = 1200.
I'd call that an expensive BS session based on performance levels in this group.
Be sure to post up how your experience goes there at FFP. I've dealt with Keith a couple times for small stuff. His personality is not for everyone, but he has his fan base as well.
Most places charge $50-75 for just 2-3 quick pulls + your AFR. We wouldn't be doing an hourly rate, which is meant for tuning/adjustment sessions.
I was planning on heading to SVS next month to use their dyno for an hour to tune. Just like FFP and everywhere else around here, they don't tune 3rd gens, it's BYOT - Bring your own tuner (& equipment)!
So just doing a couple dyno pulls doesn't really appeal to me much for a GTG, but I'd go anyways.

Yea, he's pretty dry in the personality department. He has talked about some of the recent POS's he's worked on, & I wonder if mine will fall into his POS category. I dont care as long as I can identify what my low RPM stumble is. i'm kinda giving him a blank check to ID the prob & correct it.

I'd say dyno in the day and racing that same night. Can't just spin the drums and show numbers. Gotta see it at the track as well. So this is how it's gonna be my schedule:
1. Dyno
2. Race at the track
3. Go eat at a restaurant and BS some more how we didn't go faster than it should
4. Then go home and probably get yelled at for being home late.

So judging by all the votes... there will be 24 people showing up?
Negative. You could vote more than once per category.
Looks like it's potentially going to be the track, or a dyno day. 7 more days to vote!
Keep in mind the track is $35, or a dyno could be $50-$75 depending on the # of cars. As fun as an all day event would be, not many will throw down $100+ for both + eating out after.

I'll be the first to say that I'm one of those people
I won't throw down that either. I can maybe afford racing... but That can easily cost me $100... Gas $45 Racing $35 Food $15, and if we are going to be driving around, I am going to need more gas.
I mean I drop like $65 on a wednesday night street legal drag. We will see. I need to get my drag radial fixed. I ran over a big rock and it got stuck in my new Radial

What if Rocklin Automotive kicked down for the food?
sup forum. kind of a nub here to the forum. i was browsing and saw this posting and thought i'd throw down some ideas. why do a meet somewhere in the east bay. drive down 880 as a pack then cross dumbarton (toll is $4), then north 101 and go across the hills onto 280. i think 280 from san mateo to cupertino is fun as hell. or maybe instead of 280 south we get onto skyline. but i would be down for a meet up and drive. maybe stop at a place to eat. cuz imagine all the third gens rolling out deep. what a sight that would be
What if Rocklin Automotive kicked down for the food?
It would sure help me out! How about we all meet up at Rocklin Automotive and eat, then for those that want to dyno, we will cruise over there... then after that, we can race!

Well, I'm spending close to 1000 at ForceFed, so after that I'll be done w/ Dyno, so for me its all about the track.
If you want Rocklin Automotive to kick down for food.....see ya at the track.
BTW, no food w/o a time slip!

No offense bully, Cars are a bigboy sport. Maybe I could sympathize with you if you just turned 16, but if you're 20 something still living w/ the folks, then.....
My 03 Chev 2500HD gets 10MPG, & that's my daily driver, (8 when I tow)
It takes 5 gallons of 110 race fuel to make 3 passes in my firebird. ($50).

Im not 16, and im not 20. I am 18, just out of high school. Freshly enlisted in the Air Force, and trying to get a job till I ship out in March. And yes, I live at home... Trying to move out asap. **** goes downhill.
Would you rather I sell the Bird and get a pos import... or listen to me complain about $45 in gas to get to sac and back? Like I said, I am down to race my ****...
And try 8 MPG city driving in the bird...
And How are cars such a big boy sport? I guess I am not a "Big Boy" because I am not willing to drop 10g on an drivetrain... And there are no such things are "good deals." I am not trying to be a ****. Just stating the facts. Not every car guy has to be big Ballin!
i'll for whatever, i voted for bbq and track. I'm just waiting on a durango i bought to sell then i get to finally finish the formula. Otherwise i'll be in the s4 again, this time with new/bigger turbos . I've been wanting to hit up the track anyway.
Im down for whatever.. unfortunately my car wont be ready for the run.. Can I come in a different car or would it throw everyone off to see a maxima mixed in with a bunch of 3Gens?
haha, there's never a bunch of thirdgens at these gtg's. Most of ours are usually undergoing a new mod or something. I have brought a non thirdgen car to the lastr few gtg's ranging from my 88 mustang gt, my a4, and my s4. These are a bunch of cool guys that i like to hang with and bs with no matter what i'm driving. One of these days soon i'll be able to drive my formula down. I'm trying for this one.

Do you have pics of your Mustang GT? If we are going to the track, my buddies want to race their cars, so they would be coming with me.
