I'm pulling out Wednesday afternoon, planning on arriving Thursday afternoon for the NHRA Division V Summit ET Finals this weekend. I'll be running both the '57 and the Camaro.
I'll be pitted in the Bandimere Speedway area. Drop by!
Split the jackpot with the other 2nd round winners in the Gambler's race on Friday; runner up in the Sportsman Race of Champions on Saturday; first round runner-up in Sportsman in the '57 (gave the strip back by 0.0047 seconds) and in Pro in the Camaro (-0.007 red light) on Sunday.
Not a bad weekend!!! We were going to go to Cedar Rapids, Ia. this weekend, but sounds like the weather is gonna be rainy with temps in the low 50's... Think my nice warm garage sounds like a better plan!!!!!!

I guess I'm getting spoiled. I still stew over the losses (especially the ones I give away).
This weekend is supposed to be our last two racing days of the year, with Sunday being the big $ race of the fall. Forecast is for 30's and snow. They said they'd postpone to next weekend with just the big race on Saturday.
No use to stew over a round loss....I've always tried to take them as a learning experience and try to figure out what either me or the car did wrong, then do something to correct it... I've had a lot of "gifts" over the years, too.
Actually giving some serious consideration to putting something together for me to run next year, just a bracket car probably.... I really, really want to step up to competitive 10.5 car, unfortunately with the present economic situation sponsorship is a bit tough to come by and I sure as heck couldn't run a car like that out of my own pocket. Been kicking some things around with a few different people the last couple months, they all have me on the "going to have to wait and see" status right now.... Guess I don't blame them!!!!

Well, that's why I stew over them.

Looking over the results of the class in which I ran the Camaro this year, I'd say every single round win was a gift (ended up 2nd in season points).
The showing in Topeka was disappointing because at the home track in various classes over the summer I finished 1st, 2nd, 2nd, 2nd, 3rd, 6th, and 7th, and I'm currently 3rd in a separate fall series (supposed to conclude this weekend, but weather will probably drive it to next weekend). All but the one 2nd place in the Camaro mentioned above were in the '57.
It's been a nutso, fairytale season, but a lot of fun.
I have to borrow a trailer for out-of-town races, so I've limited that to Div 5 Finals. Plus, I've about exhausted my vacation time with all that's gone on this year.
