not hating, to each their own...wtf is it on your dash? it looks like goofy (the dog), i've got a sealed box and it pounds for what it is, alot of friends have bandpasses and ported boxes and they envy the sealed box...didn't know if it was the box or the hatch that made mine so ****in loud
Hey, you can't quote me as sayin it was stupid...i never said it was stupid, but IS it Goofy or is it some other dog? Dude, i know damn well not to argue with anything that gets *****.
have you competed with the subs at all? what kinda SPL's?
and more importantly, to me anyway, what kinda et's does your ride click off?
I never competed w/ my setup, so I couldn't tell you my SPL.
Also, never took it to the track, so, couldn't tell ya THAT either...I am swapping out the engine, so when THIS current project is done, I'll post what I got.
Wait, if you already have a TPI don't bother with the vortec crate engine. Just pick up the Intake base, vortec heads, and some nice runners. Do a little port matching on the plenum and base and you'll see about 300hp easy.
Unless you only have a TBI.

if i were you and i was keeping the tpi setup, i wouldn't bother with the converter or the trans cuz tpi is ****....*end rant* *ignore comment*
seriously tho it seems like tpi takes a ton of effort to make nice numbers, i'd abandon the stock tpi setup and go to a converted lt1 intake or a mini/super ram, the big bore tb's aren't necessary, and speed density seems to be the popular choice for tuning, so i'd swap over to SD TPI if you don't already have the plans for it...and i'd keep the stock trans for a while anyway...bragging rights...i've personally fragged 3 700r4's in a year, high miles, low miles, early, late, i frag'em all...none that were built tho (see, bragging already).
it's a 355, the slip is off a ****ty run, and i'm takin it off here too, so don't be alarmed, my times stay under wraps b/c my ride is a street car and is raced on the street.
Is it just pretty much a stock L98? Or, did you build it up w/ new heads, cam, etc.? I'm STILL thinking I could get 350rwhp off that TPI w/ that engine...
Well, I even read an article in gmhighperformance where they built up a TPI engine, and used TPI...they were getting good numbers. A lot of people said it could be done, and some said it couldn't. I guess everyone has their own views. But, to me, personally, I am not trying to get good times, just smoke guys on the street here and there
i don't know i sure LOVE my holley 750....wouldn't be caught dead with another TPI setup after all the choices carb'd motors let you do.
but to each his own, and good luck on it.
now where did i leave all that money for my cowl hood?

Oh yeah, to throw THIS in the mix...I have to be 100% emissions legal, so, throwing in a Ramjet, etc. wouldn't allow me to pass...Seems as though TPI is the best way to still remain somewhat "stock", and still have low end power. Besides, if it's just street use, you don't really need something that kicks above 5500, b/c your lucky stop light to stop light allows you to get past 3rd...lol
well since my car is only driven maybe 100 miles a year i really don't have to worry about that stuff since it's show car/race car classified. So i'm emissions-exempt.
But in other news, stop light to stop light I still would want some top end as well, although TPI does do well with forced induction mods.
See, there's your advantage right there...lol...I drive mine only in the spring/summer, so, I have to get that emissions crap. It WILL be a naturally aspired engine. I will probably port/polish the intake. Things like that. So, it's not COMPLETLY a stock TPI Intake. I think I could pull good numbers when it's all said and done.
x: my hood could be up for sale soon if you still need it, the new project, which we're gonna refer to it as project peanut butter...don't ask why, doesn't require a cowl...i hope
ok let me know if that cowl hood is going up for sale

you sure? i got an 87 tpi wiring harness, ecm, and distributor.....come in handy, no? i got the chips, programmer, and socket adapter if you wanna tune the thing too...
lol, don't take it the wrong way man. I'm just saying, that the moderators are always saying to stay on subject on the threads...just don't want it to get into a big yard sale or anything...lol
Personally I don't understand the concept of neons on domestics. especially F-bodies. I think it's re-damn-diculous. But if yer into that stuff more power to ya. I had a friend who had that on his ford and he had problems with tranisitors and the clearance of the tubes.
The rest of the car looks kewl, but i'm gonna be a hater on the streetglows. Ricers and Domestics shouldn't be bred into hybridity but segregated for the well-being of mankind . I dunno, i'm a purist over here, hence the "r.i.c.e. eater" sticker on my 'maro

Emissions legal in Illinois is a joke as long as you don't have something too radical, and you have good cats.
I went for emissions on Monday. EGR is ****ed up, the pulley is off the AIR pump, and I had an exhaust leak from bolting the cats in with the old gaskets because I couldn't find new ones.
I passed with flying colors. If my scanner was working I'd post a pic, but it came up:
