Any interest in? (have to click to find out lol)

Going to Volo Auto Museum has been 2 years since I last went, so I wouldnt mind going again. We did have an event planned this year, but due to circumstances beyond out contorl it was cancelled. Late Sept or early Oct date?

Also Union Railway Museum is in Union IL and would be another rplace where you could blow a hole day. They offer rides and also have many may pieces in theor collection under massive buildings. Cool place to go if your a gearhead who likes things with really big gears and huge diesel engines. Again I would think a late sept early oct date.

With gas prices they way they are, maybe the prices will drop a little between now and then and also, it sure seems it would be cheaper right now to have a location where we end up spending a day vs. having a rally and bunring thru tanks of gas at 45$ a tank like currently :-(

Anyhow post your thoughts and comments and we can see if we can set something up. Nothing official and planned and sponsored, just a day where we can all converge and see some cars and have some fun

Here is the link for the Volo Auto Museum:

http://volocars.com/visitor-info.html

As of right now, we are thinking early-mid october area, since it can be cooler out and its primarily indoors.

As far as the Union Railway Museum goes, we are attempting to plan for a later Sept. date, we are thinking that Sept 24th might be in the making.

http://www.irm.org/directions/index.html

Both of these links have directions and hours of operation.

Please let me know if we can get some folks out on these dates

hehe... SOO line eh? those damn canadians suck! I go to the bensenville yard twice a week they are so dirty it is sickening to see that yard in Bensenville compared to BNSF yards. I dont know who they pay in the EPA but they must really take care of them How long ago did you live around there? They are Canadian Pacific now.

oh well that was back in the early 80s...i was like 10...11 years old...i liked the old logo before they became that futuristic look of just red and white....
i lived in Franklin park at the time , and was really big into trains, the rail lines from the yards that went east ward went thur the heart of Franklin Park and then some...
the Bensenville yard at the time had their own Engine house and was paralle to the road really close!...and it was fun parking right next to the big engines..no gates or anything just a open dirt then road....i don't know if the engine house is still there anymore ..and I haven't been into trains in long while..still miss em though...
