Looking 4 a Body Shop CLASS
I am thinking I want to take a class or classes in body repair so I can repair and paint my own cars. Are there any community colleges that have classes in the south subs of Chicago or N.W. Indy

i believe College of Dupage might have something on auto body....i know they got a great automotive program in general...i believe the website there is

top notch school with the best of auto equipment there...they got a new trans dyno there...for those who rebuild inhouse trannys...

Yes both of those are out west. Hopefully there is something on the southside. Where did all of you body guys learn at? Or are you self taught? I am scared to do that but seems like I may have to....

i know nothing about body work unfortunately, but i would like to take one down the road, myself. I'm more about detailing the body...more or less since i don't let anyone touch my car other then me
but i'm sure someone here on the boards can give ya a word of advise...

I'm just a AS(*)E certified auto tech.

I want to take the classes so I have access to the right tools and learn the right way. I know I could ask a question here or there but I want more than that. I got school money and would like to take a class or two. I detail cars now but want to do proper body work.

Hopefully I can find a local class before September. What ever happened to places like Washburn Trade School?

Ivy Tech in East Chicago had them as of a couple of years ago. I would try there.

i actually spent alot fo tiem awhile ago researching this sam topic.. Waubonsee Community College is the only place that offers strait body shop classes and they are/were as of last yr all during the day time. COD does ahve a very good mecanics classes as i ahve taken a few of thembut as of last yr they dont offer body shop classes...
