I am debating on whether or not it is time to sell my Formula. I love the car and there is nothing wrong with it, but I think it is time to let it go. I haven't driven the car in over two years other than to drive it to warm it up and charge the battery. I have other cars that take up all my time and I see this car as nothing more than a guilt trip. I feel guilty putting miles on the car. It has 39,000 miles and is in great shape with no rust. It has never been molested and is completely stock. It is the cleanest third gen I have ever owned. I don't know what to do with this car...

Re: When do you know when its time to let a car go?
I hear ya man, but right now in this economy don't plan on getting anything close to what you'd see as acceptable for it. Just isn't happening IMO. If you need a chauffeur for it, I'll be more than willing to put a few miles on it here and there.

Re: When do you know when its time to let a car go?
say it isn't so Steve!
i have to agree it's one of the prettiest birds you'll see on the street in stock trim! The paint just shines and Steve has taken very good care of it.
If only i had the dough man, i would love to have a formie! In the past i never thought much about formulas but as the years went by and i kept looking at my firebird brochure, i couldn't stop staring at the rear end of the formula pic.
It's unfortunate for the dilema your in.
I've seen you with her at the hot rod power tour, the Stacek Chevy car shows, etc. and you seldomly see decent looking formulas out there....
But whatever you do, i will respect your decision!
btw: who's that flame red metallic bird, sitting next to your car in that pic?
Re: When do you know when its time to let a car go?
damn, that is a nice car, my oppinion is keep it! its damn clean, id keep it n drive it all the time, but than again, 39000 orig miles, i dont kno.... selling it is up to you. i see where your coming from.

Re: When do you know when its time to let a car go?
I think if I sell it, I would regret it. I remember these cars when I was a kid brand new and always loved them. I have two other fun cars and they take up alot of my time. It is a hard decision because part of me thinks that it should be driven and enjoyed, not only for my own enjoyment, but for the enjoyment of others. I love to see really nice third gens driving. I'm sure you guys would agree that there is nothing nicer than a nice summer day and seeing a sweet firebird or camaro driving out on the road. I think that if I am not enjoying it, someone else should, and that is why I think I should sell.
Re: When do you know when its time to let a car go?
Thats a nice SS you just got it when I got the set of gta's off ya, thats another car I want one day that maroon with a maroon interior.
I still say wait till the market turns be even worse to regret selling it for lower than it should, maybe drive it one day a week to work. I wish my job I could drive my car a few times over the summer, but I have to bring all my tools home since I never know when Im working with who?
