Ill be there with my ugly project GTA and i hope to see more third gens that fourth gens. I have a feeling that id be showing up to a fourth gen cruise so i wanted to post this so that i could get the word out and hopefully even out the crowd a little and not be the only one there with a f-body under construction. Has anyone seen this or done this before? Is it cool?

yea i saw your car.. on here i think. i want an lt1 in mine. id like to check yours out sometime. i took my leather seats out and exchanged them for same style only cloth for now. my leather looked like garbage. too back you cant make the cruise. id like to have as many third gens with me as possible

I'll be honest. Its a mess under the hood still, and the interior is too.

Well, its a lot LESS of a mess than it used to be.

If all goes well I'll be bolting new doors, fenders, nose, and a bumper support on the car this weekend. So it'll be multicolored for a week before it goes to paint.

Speed wise, if everything was working correctly (which i doubt yet, its still very rich) it should slightly faster than a bolt-on L98. It should be similar to an L98 with vortec heads, HSR, and headers, but the baby cam would be holding it back. The cam is just 179/194 @ .050" lift!! Max lift at the rocker is .350" and .384". Thats 28* less duration on the intake than a stock L98 camshaft from 89'. If I drop the LT4 hot-cam (218/228) 38* on the intake, and 34* on the exhaust. Massive difference there.


Am envious of your Tan interior as I have the dove gray interior that was common to 90% of all firebirds. ugh. At least it makes finding interior parts easy enough.

thirdgen89gta is full of it! His car is awesome, he just says it isn't but that is because he is super picky. That thing has some low end grunt. Besides a paint job, the car is an amazing shape. His car also has a mean roar under throttle and sounds beastly.

thirdgen89gta, don't put your car down. I would love to have your car. You have a great project coming along and maybe you need to drive something slow and ugly for a while so you can see what a great car you really have.

I can't go to this meet. Some very serious family issues have come up and it looks like I'll be going back to my country if the Army lets me.

not in the market for anymore gta purchases this year. got rid of my 9 bolt finally and got a 3.23 posi 10 bolt from a 90 iroc. so thats it for me and just in time for the cruise and then away shell go for the winter. maybe next year or maybe after i blow up my l98

and if anyone wants to buy my 9 bolt in nw burbs lemme kno. pickup only. calipers, rotors, everything but lines. bolt it in- $100

I went on this cruise last year and it was a great time. If your thinking about going I would do it, just make sure your car is road ready. It is a lot of driving so make sure your car can handle it.

yea im planning on doing it. my car should be up to it. i drove it up and back from milwaukee to go to the zoo this summer with my girlfriend so im not too worried about it. and ill have my buddy in his forth gen. thanks for the input.
