Apologies in advance for this not being a "What will it run?" thread ...
I autocrossed my Formula last weekend for the first time with a Torsen T2R, and oh man what a difference!! It puts the power down so much better than the plain Torsen take-out (and better than an OEM Auburn, too ). The OEM Torsen seemed to be a bit abrasive with the power which caused the rear end to skate around while the T2R is much smoother. You still can't just mash the gas, but it's pretty close.
FWIW, I finished 3rd in STX at the Topeka Pro Solo, just .136 seconds out of first. I was leading the class after Saturday by three tenths but couldn't improve at all Sunday. I had cones on my fastest run on the right-side course Sunday, which would have given me first place if it was clean. But I still ended up winning $100 for finishing 4th in the "Honda Street Challenge" (basically, 4th-best finish in the Super Challenge out of all the "Street" classes). Heh heh, Honda paying me money for driving a crusty GM product.
Doing some numbers crunching between the Fort Myers and Topeka Pro Solos, I estimate I picked up 1.5-2 seconds with the addition of the weight jackers and the T2R.

I switched over from a 3rd gen to a 4th gen mid-season last year. At some point, I will likely do something to bump me to ESP or CP (I already have the ESP lettering just in case). I hadn't considered STX. If you could, would you summarize what you are permitted to do in STX? ...my likely next mod will be to replace my POS Auburn with a T2R...

Well you couldn't run STX with a 4th gen unless it was a V6 -- the displacement limit is 5.1L for NA cars (and 2.0 for FI). But STX is kind of Street Prepared Lite. You have to keep all the emissions stuff (AIR, cat), but you can still do headers and cat-back exhaust, and you can do a cold-air intake. That's basically it for power stuff not counting stock rules (coil, plugs, wires).
Suspension rules are pretty much the same as SP -- any bushing not made of metal, sway bars are free, springs and shocks are free so long as the original mounting points are the same ... PHB and torque arms are free, and you can run any differential. You're limited to 8"-wide rims but they can be any diameter and offset. Oh and you can't run R-compounds, and the tires can't be any wider than 245.

I got my Torsen T2R from Sam Strano Jr. (he also has a '91 1LE ) at Stranoparts and it was around $500. I think Sam mentioned over at ls1.com that his source had some new T2R's in. More info on the diff is available here.

Thanks. Now I remember why I didn't bother thinking about it... Memory is going on me.
