With decent tires he can run low low 14s all day.

With an unreal 60 ft, lower than a 1.85, he could break 13s

What rear?

On street tires, with a G80, i'd give him a 14.4-14.2. With a G92, a very low 14. 13's for sure if he can cut a really good 60 ft.

If the car is tuned properly and he knows how to drive id say 14.2-14.4 with good tires.

a converter will really help that car out as it has done to mine. i can do 13.8-9's at 100, with 3.27's and 2.77 gears. thats with 2800 stall

so i think if you can launch it well, to cut a low 1.9 60 foot, you should be well on your way to 14.0-14.2 second pass at 97-99mph

How much do converters go for? Are they easy to install?

89's came with 2.77's. He most likely doesnt have the G92 package. The G92 pack came with 3.27's.

mines an edge racing converter... the custom built one to your specs... it was 554 shipped to my door. and i got a free T shirt LOL its a small 9.5 inch converter and is very efficient. i love mine so far.

as far as install, i dont think its all that difficult but i didnt do mine, i had my tranny rebuilt and the converter put in all at the same time

I was thinking about getting one but I am not sure if its worth it. Might just skip all the little junk and just drop in a Pro-charger.

if your motor is strong a procharger would be sweet. you'll make some good power.. but even then you would benefit from a stall

Well you have to remember, a centrifugal supercharger is like a blower and has to build up boost. With tpi, it runs out of usable revs very quickly. A stall would help a TON getting you off the line N/A or SC.

procharger wil get you 12's. it will still make plenty of boost in a usuable rpm range for tpi. the p-600 blower i think will do 9psi. its kinda smaller so it will work well with street motors not looking to rev over 5500rpms

i think that would be good... 7-8psi should make decent power. i think the motor can handle the 9 pound kit tho.

As of now i got 305-310 at the fly, so with the blower it would be a little over the 400 mark with 6-8 boost probably. Not sure if the tranny can handle that much.

Then once you have 400+ hp out of your L98 you think to yourself...Maybe I would have been better off starting with an LS1. Too bad SS and WS6 cars are so much for a 19 yr old to afford.

I'm confused. I always though belt driven superchargers deliver instant boost, where turbos have to spool...?

it does deliver instant boost.. for the most part. some setups will peak at higher rpms than others... some will start to bleed off at higher rpms. where that peak boost is depends on the setup. but you do start making some boost the instant you nail it

Is the strip around you at sea level or above? where i run its way above sea level. i ran 15.3 stock 14.5 was best run with hsr and headers with 2.77 rearend gears posi. Ls1 cars only run 14.5 stock auto's, the 6-speeds would manage 14.0. elavation plays a big roll in drag times. i have ram air, 58mm throttle body, and a few other things done now but i couldnt run after i done those things broke trans. 6-speed on the way tho. your rearend gear is probably 2.77 if its a 9-bolt 2.73 if its a 10-bolt. mines a 9-bolt with 3.27's now stole it off the T/A
