distributor gear with cast roller cam

With a cast core solid roller cam do i need to run a bronze distributor gear or the stock one is ok Cam is Comp cams 12-772-8 XR286

But for now i just drop a POWERFULL
L69 with a 3.42:1 gear to moove the car

Previous setup :
350 416 head prerformer + cam 14.9-91mph TH700
355 191 head XE268 cam 14.01-99mph +100hp shoot 13.3-107mph TH700
355 L31 head XE268 cam 13.1-104mph +75hp shoot 12.45-109mph TH700
355 vitor headed blows up
305 L69 stock 14.34 - 93mph TH350 3000 stall +75hp shoot 12.79-105mph with a best ever 1.73 60'

Email Comp Cams and ask them. If it's a billet cam, it needs a bronze distributor gear unless it's been designed for street use and has a cast gear on the cam.

That cam comes with a pressed on iron gear so the stocker will be ok.

Just call comp cams and they said that cams finishing with a 8 like 12-772-8 are cast and they can be used with the stock distibutor gear & fuel pump push rod so no need for the bronze thing.
