Its too bad the T-5 is so weak must be a way to make them a little stronger.. guess its time to hit the search function
Years ago, I contacted many shops, specializing in T-5s. Every one said the same thing. "The only thing I can do for you, is get them to shift smoother". I had broken two W/C T-5s, one with the 305, and one with the 355. So I ended up buying a Tremec TKO, from Fortes. That trans was as strong as I needed, but the shifting was very cumbersome. The large, heavy gears, made powershifting, or speedshifting, either hard, or non existant. Soooo.. I went with an auto. Bye Bye inconsistant E.Ts.
I put my tranny for trade for an auto and a couple people want it I dont "really" want to do it but I know its the best thing to do. I will really miss a manual tranny. There is no better feeling than downshifting and feeling that torque and your toes.
