Have been working a few days at this, it`s a good fit from S&W race cars, I had the 8 point from them and it fit well so naturally I opted to go with them on this. I have a few pictures I wanted to keep the bars hidden as much as possible and retain the factory dash.

one more the dash. One thing I really regret doing is cutting up a perfect dash pad to fit around the bars...I noticed the pad has some metal inserts built into the ends..anyone ever cut one of these and keep it clean?

looks like it's coming along nicely. Can't wait to see a completed pic, I'm sure I'm not far off from needing a 10 point eventually too.

I had the same problem. I cut the dash on the inside front side of the down tube directly forward and another cut from the outside front of the down tube outwards on about a 30 degree angle. I then slip the complete pad in place and then put the 2 small inserts in. The portion of the dash pad that faces the driver is uncut. You have to stick your head in and have a good look to see the cuts. I had plans of making something to cover the cuts but they show so little that I haven't bothered. It is mostly a race car and not a show car. The metal backing was a pain to cut but by leaving it in adds strength to the cut portion of the pad.

I went through three dash pads before I got mine the way I wanted it to fit.

how`d you end up doing it it? anyone else have pictures to share I`d like to see them! I think I`m gonna go to the salvage yard and get a practice one anyhow.

How in the world do you paint the A pillar bars with the window in place?

I had the local glass shop remove the windshield. And as you are planning, I used my old dash. I cut it with a jig saw, used construction paper for a templet. Then cut a good dash pad, but it did not fit as good as I had hoped for. So I bought another good dash, made a templet from the one I cut up and corrected my sloppiness. The new dash fits a lot better. I have to remove the steering wheel to install or remove the dash pad.

Hey greezemonkey, I used an foam paint brush to paint my A-pillar bars. Here are some pics. I made an templet out of cardboard before cutting up my dash pad.

Thanks, I think the very front of the pipes may not get enough paint but I`m not pulling the window just for that, I was thinking of trying a straw on the paint can trick I`ll pull out the jig saw after measuring twice
Also thanks for that picture it`s pretty much how tight mine is, aside from the little extra that was cut in front, it did not come out too bad

I was digging thorugh to find a pic and then saw 92stealthrams pics and they are so similar to mine that there is no sense sending mine. I taped waxed painting paper with double sided to the window and ajoining areas and then did the hard part of the front tube with a small roller. You can look down thru the window to see how things are going.

i was tryignt o think of a solution to that also, my best solution would be to like take a rag covered in paint in the middle and try to fish it aorund the cage andd rub it on the front side of the pipe, kinda get my point?

Okay guys, cut dash pad installed !!....also some finishing pictures..ignition and gauges are in and working, starting to look like my car again
