Looks good, I've just started building mine (84z28) right now its just a shell with a moser 9" and some weld drag lights. Say what size is that cowl hood 4 or 6?
Hi Ih the tire are 295-65-15 to get them to fit on the inside I used my air hammer it works better than heat and hammer. I also cut the ribs from the inside where the back seats are around the wheel tub you will also have to use after market lowers as the tire will rub factory lowers. Wheel backspacing is 5 5/8 with a 10in wheel.
Hey man the car looks great, do you have more pics of your cage? I like the look of it so far except for the bars that run through the dash pad, but that's just me. I myself would have added a radio in there though, I can't stand not having any music to go along with the roar of my motor....PANTERA full blast. But for the strip I understand, it's nothing more than un-needed weight. Where is the car serving most of it's duty, the street or the drag strip?
As for the bars going through the dash for me its the best way makes it harder to see the cage. And for the radio its hard to hear it unless you blare it loud. I had two amps sub and mids and highs in it before I had it painted and upgarded from a 6 point to 10 point. I think I would rather go faster than have the radio.

I'm disappointed in you I'm in the same, same set-up with 800Watts, but even with the old 388 it was hard to hear over the engine, when the 427 was running i literally had it cranked to make it audible...but it's staying put. I know the subs alone are worth .1, already proven it, but without a stereo, it's getting away from a street car personality.

IHI I like the radio in them also but like you the only time I could enjoy it was in the staging lanes. IHI do you have a certified cage in your car yet?
I've had the 8 point in for years, i have the down bars and halo to finish it, just been working on other aspects and since i have to gut interior again to install the last two bars i am waiting for a winter time project. I'm not running fast enough to have it mandatory other than protecting my own azz but once i hit the go baby go button...after i install the laughing gas provided this new engine holds together, then we'll have to get the certification done, phyical, licsenced passes, etc...but for now, I'm staying above the 10.00 mark to save some money and work on other parts of the car, cuz once i gut the interior I think i may work on mini tubbing it "as long as I'm there"....famiouos words that cost us alot of money huh?? LOL!!
Yeah, radio wise, ya cant really hear squat unless it's turned up almost all the way, at least so it's audible anyhow. When I'm alone it's alright, but with a passenger between the engine belloring away having a conversation is hard enough, so no need to add a cranked stereo to the mix...but it is a source of amusement in the staging lanes though.
where does the bar come out at under the dash (cant see in pic clear) is it just behind the support in firewall? I took my new engine to the track on sunday, and put it on the bumper and unloaded the rear tires too, knocked the wind out of me when it came down, i figured the quickest way out of th car was mat it and get off the track...man that hurt guess 800 + hp with stockish suspension isnt a good idea. good lookin car though, i say an i pod with ear plug things would take care of the tunes and add like what 10 oz?
Carfixer how did your headers and oil pan make out sounds like a good combo you have. I will take some pic of the bar and some one else wants some pics of the batt switch.
uh the headers are junk....the oil pan looks a little tweaked but not leaking i havent put the car up on the lift yet, but the a-arms are after market and the bumpstop doesnt hit the k member it just kinda rubs the side of it....so the strut mounts took the hit both are bent up about 3/8 maybe 1/2 in and slid in so the camber was wacked ,that made it have alot of toe out so it wouldnt stay in the groove i didnt get to make a wide open pass all the way...i will go soon, btw i posted a thread with a pic!
looks pretty good, i have my shutoff inside the cover on the right, i guess just to make it harder to put in lol. I was going to use a halo bar like you did but i didnt like how far back it wound up . not that im saying yours isnt ok , also i did it for race not street strip so some other things are diffrent maybe i will get the camera and get some pics...when is the debut of your car?
Carfixer I tried to take it out sat nite but it was a rain out and the same last night. I have to go to KY friday for a job. I may postpone that till sat and try and go out fri night to get some base runs on this new engine. It still needs some small things done to the car and I will do them in due time.
kool , just ah dont do what i did and ah underestimate the engine i built, i am still being told the car was nearly straight up, and the guy that works with me that was standing by the starting line said he saw the whole hood plus some windshield....i was really glad i built a full cage when i was checking the cloud cover
