well if it stays together thats great, but does it effectively dampen vibrations that posisbly could lead to more stress on my rod/main bearings?

I'll inspect my damper and see if it looks like its in good shape. outer ring looks good so far. maybe i should just upgrade to a new stock replacement unit?

Ok, stock L98 cam is out and this is what i found

Front cam bearing looks like this...and from what i can see, most cam bearings have alittle wear like the front on the bottom surface

what should i do?

It looks like you are on borrowed time. I wonder what the rod & main bearings look like. It might be a good idea to start saving for a fresh short block, or rebuild the one in your car yourself.

i got some other guys telling me its ok to run for now. I think its on borrowed time myself... who knows what the rod bearings look like. eh...i'm gonna hold off on this project and think about a shortblock
