Scheduled for Aug 8-9. Sign-up opened at 9 a.m. this morning, I went to the site at 8:45 and it let me in. By 10:30, the participant tickets were sold out.
Main problems I have between now and then are 1) knee surgery later this month; and 2) must run at least 12.99; best I've done at altitude is 13.15. Not sure if the '82 Camaro with LS1/T56 will run that or not, but I haven't even gotten that swap started yet. The '57 will run 12.2's at sea level, that's about a 75 shot of nitrous to run that here. Some weight reduction and other tweaks will probably get me below 12.99 w/o nitrous. Or, find a 454 real quick to build and drop in (budget issues there).
The chances of me making the 16 is probably somewhere between zero and none. But, can't hurt to try.
i tried to get signed up for the rockingham pinks last year, but they filled up a couple hours before i tried to register. turns out 40-50 cars didnt show up that day. the field they picked would have been my field, too. i felt like slapping all those guys for wasting spaces like that.
just make sure you get your stuff ready so your not one of "those guys"!
At least for this one, it was on our track's website. Like I said, it sold out (400 racers) in about an hour and a half (maybe quicker - that's just when I checked again).
I tried for the allout @ Etown. The way the did theres was you emailed them all your info and they took the first 450 cars by the time stamp on your email. It sold out in about 45 SECS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! One of the other sites I get on has posts about who got in and who didnt and such. Well the last guy had a time stamp of about 12:01:46 secs. It opened at 12:01 AM on a Sat. night. It was nuts. I didnt get in wish I had it would have been fun. Good luck to you and hope to see you on TV.
A guy I pit with emailed and said he knows of a group of 17 that run between 9.8 and 9.9 that all got signed up. Stuff like that makes it pretty unlikely they'll pick a field of 16 high 12's cars.
I figure my best chance of getting on TV is novelty. You know - had the car since 1971, who in their right mind races a 4-door, etc.
My parents and I might take my car if I get it done. I wanted to get it done before STL but thats not ganna happen. Idk if Ill get the cage done by then or not, but if so Ill be there!!
i'll bring out a thirdgen to run those times If you can't make it.

I will be at the gainesville pinks all out on April 18 and 19th Me and one of my friends my car will be going 10.20s to 10.30s his car 10.00s to 10.10s.
Good luck....I love seeing 3rd gens in any Pinks episode.
The plan was to take the '57, as I thought it would have more "uniqueness" appeal. But, if it's giving me issues, I'll consider the LS1 Camaro (assuming it's up and running).
