Rocker Arms

I just got some new heads and I have a few questions. I know the heads are 7/16 studs But will stock stamped rockers from my 882 heads fit them?

What would you guys recommend? What do you guys think of these?

Cam specs are.. .586/.562 238/248*@.050 113 LSA btdc= 5 abdc=51 bbdc=57 atdc=11

I went with the 1.5/1.6 combo to boost the lift on the exhaust side, new lift would be .586/.599, can any of you give me some help?

Re: Rocker Arms

no, and with that cam, i'd never think to use stock rockers. comp pro-magnums will be the ticket for your combo

Re: Rocker Arms

Stamped steel rockers unless they're long slot rockers are not good for very much beyond stock lift. Exhaust normally doesn't need much of an increase. The piston traveling up the cylinder will push the exhaust gases out just as easily but velocity will be lower with more lift. That's why exhaust lift is normally less than intake lift.

Comp Pro Magnums. SBC version with 7/16" stud.

There's more to it than just a rocker arm swap. Going to that much lift you also need to check a lot of clearances.

Will the spring pressure handle that much lift and will they bind with that much lift?
Will the bottom of the retainer hit the top of the valve guide with that much lift?
Will the valves hit the pistons?
How is the valve train geometry?

Re: Rocker Arms

The whole top end is off my buddys 383 stroker that put down some very stout numbers. They are world sportsman 2's fully setup for that hyd. roller cam. The only thing I need to worry about is P/V clearance. Other than that I know the cam, lifters, pushrods and heads all work together great.

Re: Rocker Arms

Can I go with aluminum rockers or should I stick with steel since my springs have 500+ lbs of pressure?
