First race of the season tonight

Opening day at Bandimere Speedway (well, the gate opens during the day, the race is in the evening). Need to try to regain the season-winning form from 2006, finished 4th in the class last year.

I'll be running the '57, as well as being the "B" driver in the Camaro for my son - he's still in Wisconsin at school until late May. We'll see how well I pull off my Dan Fletcher/Peter Biondo/Ryan McClanathan impersonation running more than one car at one race. The real challenge is I'll be running both cars in the same class, so I'm going to try to jump in early in the '57, make the run, switch cars and get back in the lanes before the class finishes. They ladder after the 3rd round, so if both cars are still in by then, it'll make it a little easier.

I ran the '57 at test & tune two Saturdays ago, ET's were disappointing (poor weather conditions), only got in two runs, but at least RT's were acceptable. Ran the Camaro at T&T last weekend, RT's were even better than in the '57 (had the better light for each run than the other guy). Hope that carries over into tonight.

It's a three-day-weekend for racing, regular ET series races Friday and Saturday, and a "special event" one-time-only race on Sunday. I will only be running the '57 Saturday, and Sunday if I decide to go out for that one.

Re: First race of the season tonight

In April! Must be nice. We still have snow on the ground from the snow storm earlier this week. The last of the snow should be gone by Monday. Looking back at past weather history, it should snow at least one more time before June.

Well, we've been snowed out before in May. But, not tonight.

My impersonations were not at all impressive - first round runner up in both cars. Dialed down too much for first round, couldn't run the number (plus got treed pretty good in the Camaro - against a kid my son used to run against in the High School class a couple of years ago).
