Oh boy, got sent this this am, going to go out and buy a DVD recorder that i can plug into any camcorder, dvr, vcr, etc...and write whatever to disc and then use that to upload into the computer...it looks like my freind that shot this last weekend just took his webcam and had it record video off his TV:rotf::rotf: but at the same time:headbash::headbash:
Sorry about the bad quality, between the webcam copy and then quality lost through youtube, is'nt much left to watch:cry:

I apologize on quality, but when your just the recieving end with no control over it, guess ya get what ya pay for LMFAO!!! I can see the front end drops a bit harder visually than it felt in the car, in car it did'nt feel any worse than when i'm on motor bracket racing and the few times i've turned up the 2 step N/A also, but it sure looks ugly. I have a buddy checking to see if he still has his progressive controller around and i may add a second stage and ramp it in so it hits just before the car wants to fall to soften the drop a tad, but i'll definately have to regear for a 2 stage since as it sits i'll probably be out of rpm with just a 150 hit. We'll see how it goes.
You're right. That is bad video but even bad video is better than none. That's better than the grandstand shot I was given.
It was on TV or being played back? Will it be on in reruns? Use a video capture next time. My computer has built in TV capture. Does the same thing as a DVR. Watch, record and playback live TV.
I borrow a real video camera for my external shots. It's a MiniDV tape camera that has Firewire. That the best way to transfer video from tape to computer. The MiniDV tapes offer better recording quality than compressed files saved to camera hard drive or memory cards and has a longer recording time than a mini DVDR.
Of course when I transfer them from tape to the computer, they get saved in some sort of file compression like MOV, MPG or AVI anyway so maybe a hard drive camera wouldn't be that bad.
For external shots, just about any camera will do. For in car shots, the shock of a launch can cause some cameras to stop recording.
I keep looking at good digital camcorders, but just cant seem to get over the $1500 price tag to buy them I showed my wife one of those transfer thingey's and she pretty much tried to throw me out of the house to buy it tonight so she can transfer all our VHS tapes to disc since we hav'ent owned a VCR in years LOL!! so i'll take that over and see if i can get some better quality straight from his camera as opposed to him plugging his camcorder into the Tv, and then using a webcam to shoot the TV since he did'nt know how else to get it computer compatiable LOL!!!
Dang thing looks like it was shot in the 80's on BETA
gee, thats almost normal for me on the bottle, although I have a progressive controller (that decided it doesnt want to work anymore ). Its always good to get the crowd excited about something lol, looks good. might want to make sure the bump stops in the front work though

What are bump stops?? just need to ramp more juice in at the right time to soften it...excess is best right
Which progressive controller did you have? I've been reading around and many juice guys have great things to say about the edelbrock unit, so if i buy one that will be it based on all the kudo's it's reiceved from guys running a heck of alot faster than i ever will. The one my freind has is the NOS brand, which i have'nt looked into as far as reviews. the only one i've heard to stay away from by about everybody that bought it is the Jacobs unit, i guess that thing has a very very high failure rate.
I am using the nos programable one http://store.summitracing.com/partde...5&autoview=sku
It had been rock solid reliable, But a few weeks ago the nitrous was going on and off, last week on the 3rd pass it acted like the car ran out of gas or something, then after a few seconds it went, this week nothing. Havent determined what is wrong yet, but for like 2 years it hasent missed a lick.
It may be something as simple as a faulty ground,or possibly the unit could be damadged by vibration (has mid plate, every thing will get some vibration lol)
I have it mounted close so i can adjust things when needed
I was running the fastest car in the class, so I was going to turn it up (which would have been interesting, havent done that yet) and the little display stopped scrolling when i pressed the program button, so i turned it off and back on and seemed like it was ok........it wasnt and I was pissed.........I have been doing some reading, and some cars have problems like this that people never solve, no matter what controller. I have read about cars that they built a copper (?) box to shield the controller itself and shielded all the wiring for the nitrous system , and the ignition to solve the problem. Like I said I have not checked much, although at the track I checked the full throttle switch (ok) and found that it woul act up both with the engine running and not running which would seem to not be interference related, and i do run an alternator, and have 14 plus volts all the time (which is another common problem, nitrous solenoids pull alot of amps). I got this controller several years ago, and dont think the edelbrock unit was out yet? Also I know a guy that will only use the jacobs unit, and has never had a problem with it, but thats only one case , I dont hear anybody talk about any of them besides edelbrock (seems alot of so called pro guys use them in NMCA) fjo (mainly low hp shot guys, dont know why) and NOS. From what the local chassis builders say most pro mod guys are using digiset timers, claiming they are more reliable and predictable, but thats guys who run several stages, and most will say that multiple smaller shots are better than a large one on a progressive controller.
If I can not find a definite cause, I may convert to a dual stage plate, and wire the second on a button (on the shifter, my hand is there any way, have to shift 2 times per pass lol) but the controller worked so good i really dont want to go that way.
That was another way i was thinking about doing the 2 stage, just sell this current plate, buy a new dual bar set up, add a second set of solenoids, and then like ya said, just wire in a manually controlled button so if i need it to soften a landing, I control it..if i wanna bring it in sooner/later i control it...plus it'd be easier for finish line racing if i know i spun a bit, or cut a bad light and needed the visual physc to my opponent in hopes of getting the round back when i really should'nt
Actually the more i think about it, i'm kind of liking it that way and may just do it like that initally unless i can get this progressive controller tomorrow for a song
Good luck with the electrical issue, yes, i've read that same problem many times while checking on controllers so obviously your not alone, just sucks it happened.
Although there are many nitrous products out there, the common ones such as NOS, Holley, Edelbrock etc are mostly geared towards an average consumer. There are many more hard core racer products out there.
Yes I am definitly not alone, but I am relatively sure it is a unit problem, since it doesnt follow what most people have problems with.
I have a big shot plate and no room for the carb to go up, so i was thinking of converting this plate to a dual stage, except only one stage is actually on at one time, so leave on 1st, hit button and 1st shuts off and second comes on, not exactly ideal, but better than spending a grand for a fogger lol, and even that could be hard to install, I would have to re make the throttle cable and solenoid mounts, and i would lose the heat shield

I have had great and consistant luck with the progressive controller from nitro daves. its a cheaper unit, smaller, easy to use, and easy to install. if you are going to use a transbrake you need a diff set of directions though. Its the best unit forthe money period!
the nx dual stage plate is a nice piece! I ahve used almost all major brands of nitrous companies and have always had the best et and best tuneups with the nx stuff.
carfixer if you are realy wanting a fogger let me know. I can get you the best price on one no questions about it. trust me you wont regret it. one of the best moves i made, plus its easier on the motor if you have any other q's about your nitrous setup let me know.
also if you are not doing anything aug 23rd twiggs is going to have a good race. a stock suspension 28x10.5, a 26x8.5 race and lots of grudge racing. eatonton is also doing a stock suspension if you are interested in coming down to race or hangout aug 7

Etown is a long haul having to work the next day, but it shure would be fun, especially now that i have an 1/8th mile gear lol, but I may need to check out that twiggs race. I was looking at some fogger nozzles that have 90 degree inlets, they might actually fit without reinventing the wheel, depending on whats wrong with the controller is whats going to make the decision, its kind of nice not having to hold a button all the way down the track, but I also cant let it all hit at once, we know what happens then....that freakin hurt when it hit the ground lol, so I am going to spend some quality time with the camaro monday night and see whats going on. I dont really want to have to put a fogger on, I want to lay it on hatfield this friday.......and there is this other um...guy that I absolutely want to spank the crap out of.......having me tossed for a w tire. doesnt matter, new tires work better anyway lol
