Re: well, my junk finally went into the 8`s in the 1/4

With a chute and a wing you want to not only angle the chute upward, you also want the top edge of the pack to be slightly above the wing. That way when you release it the air-flow helps get it out.

I'm not certain if this wing is a store-bought or custom fab; pretty clean though. It was a random pic I found on the net. - The chute mount is further out than needed, but you can visualize how the top edge would sit in the air-flow.

It's not neccessarily a bad idea, it's just very difficult to do and make it look right. - The biggest problem being that you need access to a metal break atleast 5' long, probably 6'. The materials will also cost a decent percentage of a store bought unit.

Do you need to have the wing with a chute?

Looks good, just wondering if wing is required

Re: well, my junk finally went into the 8`s in the 1/4

hey the wing looks great! I could take you on the front half, with a 383, but you are really picking up up top! I havent gotten that 8 second slip yet..close lol If the track was better the when i was playing I might have got it but I damn near hit the wall out of the hole (saw the marks later going to make another pass..i was ALOT more cautious lol) lifted to not cross the centerline and still went out the back @150 lol. Would it work better to run a smaller shot on the controller so you can get it in faster then hit the 2nd sooner? just an idea, thats alot of hammering on those solenoids

Thanks guys, I like the look alot! carfixer, I was trying to phase it in slow because it`s not the best track and it was the first time running the two systems at once, normally the plate is at 150hp and is all in by .5 secs starting at 60% next time will we will be at a better track to really lay it down

^ I believe has has stated that it was fine, just that he was now required to have the 'chute and knew he would want the wing someday; so do it now and not have to remount the 'chute.

Around ga, mid 1.20's in the 60 is where u need to be, and Alot of stock suspension cars are mid to low 5's a few bad boys are in the 4's at certain tracks! Its alot of fun to watch some of these cars around here, I might run some of the stock suspension races soon...might have to drag mw66nova over to twiggs if he isnt busy with all he has going on to watch, so as to have a tailgating buddy when im first round fodder lol
