"meh" day at the track

Here's a shot of the lazy launch, just spun the slicks, no weight transfer at all off the footbrake. 22-30mph winds and a cold day meant no traction or heat in the track at the rental we had. Tried different tire pressure and launch rpm, but the surface wasn't sticky to my shoes so I knew the tires wouldn't want to hook either.

few motor shots for those that are interested

basic bolt on ls1 with a carb up top

Looks good! How do you like the carbed LS1? I may go that route in the future.

Any times, or we don't share those?

won't be spraying it until I dial in this motor N/A first, so probably another 2 track trips, plus I have pinks all out at the end of the month so I won't spray it before then.

I like the carb'd setup, basically the msd box has a lot of features, nitrous retard, 2 step, complete control over your timing curve, and if you want to skip all that it's power and ground and plug in 6 connectors and you're done.

No times to share, but after this past weekend I wouldn't feel right posting them until it's dialed in anyways, I'll shoot you a PM once I get it sorted out if you like. Just can't be public knowledge.

I'm enjoying the pics. Nice work. I just need a new slave / master cylinder for the T56 and I'll be getting down to the track... Hopefully soon. We'll have to meet up sometime this summer though for sure.

Re: "meh" day at the track

I think i dour problem steve, there's some weird things growing on the valve covers? they have wires going in and out...looks very high tech?? just say'n is all

That weekend sucked ballz all at the state tracks, just crummy weather for all. Just cus you dont see weight transfer does'nt mean it's not working, you've seen video's of my car running 1.33-1.36 60's and the rear of the car never squats a bit....just drives them meaties straight into the cement

Re: "meh" day at the track

no josh i'm saying the nose didn't pick up more than an inch or so, this thing used to yank the tires immediately at the line, who knows why with 100 pounds less over the nose it won't anymore. Guess this motor isn't making the power like my old combo was.

Get it tuned to the max first and then make opinions on the combo, is it possible it's just making power higher, so it's losing a bit out of the gate but making up for it when it's up and running? that's the kind of combo to have since hot greasey summer tracks are'nt as big a deal.
