M/T E.T. Streets for 15X8 wheels?

Replacing my E.T. streets with new ones. Been running 28x11.5 ( 9 inch tread) with no fitment issues. Rims are 15x8 prostars with I think 4 inch backspacing.

Possible to fit a 28x12.5 ( 10 inch) without issues?

Also, anyone run the hoosier quick times. They seem to have a size that is 10 inch tread for an 8 inch rim?

28x9 ET drag will hook harder than what you have now.

or a stiff sidewall 28x10.5 would work as well.

Re: M/T E.T. Streets for 15X8 wheels?

my 28x12.5 ET streets balloon out on my 15x10s, I couldn't imagine running them on a 8" rim. Buy the proper size slick for the rim size you are running then you won't have to drop psi super low to get a good contact patch cuz the tire is ballooned out.

Thanks guys. I will stick with the 9 inch wide tire then. It's not a problem.

Any experience with the hoosiers that show 10 inch wide for 8 inch rims?

I know some people who run hooisers but they always run a 10" tread on a 10" rim. The bigger rim will make the slick more stable on the big end. The 28x9 ET drag would be your best bet on that small of a rim.

Yeah, I'd stick with the 11.5's. my car had 12.5's on it when I got it and I had to run like 10psi in them to get the contact patch right. The car swayed pretty good on the big end. The car feels 10x better with 11.5's and 13psi. Plus, I get the 11.5's used, with 20 passes on them, from a local PSCA racer for $50 a pair.

Re: M/T E.T. Streets for 15X8 wheels?

Heres a pic of my 28/12.5 on a 8" rim

Also, when I was at the track I was using 15-16psi in the tires and still ripping off 1.52 - 1.55 60fts.

I have friends that have the same tire combos and are doing 1.4's with the same tire psi.

I've been thinking about upping my tire press and seeing how it works.

Re: M/T E.T. Streets for 15X8 wheels?

i've had good luck with the hoosier 29x9 tire on an 8" wheel, i've since upgraded to a 10" wheel and a fresh set of 29x9's...we'll see how they work out together.

FWIW I am running 28x10.5 stiff sidewalls on a 8". At 11.5psi these things hook awesome and are super stable on the big end.
