Another what will i run thread...sorry

I have a 84 z28. Its a carbed 350. Not many mods, but here is the setup

350 Was around 8:1 compression with 882 heads
"416" 305 heads 58 cc chambers
1406 edelbrock carb
edelbrock performer intake ( i know this sucks)
accell super coil
Lunati 00010LK cam
292/292 duration 230/230 gross value .480/.480 lift 109/107 lsa 2000-6000 power range
hedman longtube headers
3.73's
th-350
b&m 2200-2300 stall

Im just curious what this might run in the 1/8 and 1/4 mile. I think it will run out of steam above 5K because of the heads and intake. Hopefully it wont be like a 10 second 1/8 mile car.

Also with that cam, i think the engine will have a nice lopey sound to it...is this correct? Thanks

i'm gonna say around low 9s in the eighth, depending on the weight of the car.

Re: Another what will i run thread...sorry

I'm running the Lunati 00017 cam in mine. A little milder than the 00010 and I'm running low 9's (1/8th) with the 305 but I've also shaved some weight off the car. I'd still say you should run low 9's at least, maybe high 8's.

Re: Another what will i run thread...sorry

what are you running for the rest of the exhaust system? i had a 305 with those heads and a comp 280h(smaller than what you're running) running 7.8x's but i had a lot more converter and gear. i'd think that cam would want a 4.11 gear and a 3800ish stall converter to see the full potential.

going to a performer RPM and a 650 double pumper would be worth their weight in gold on this combo.

Re: Another what will i run thread...sorry

I have a simliar setup:
355 (350, .030 over), 9.75:1 cr, Summit Crank, Trick Flow Aluminum Heads 2.02/1.60, Comp Cams CS XE284H-10 Hydraulic Flat Tappet, Advertised Duration 284/296, Lift .507/.510, 1.5 Comp Cams Gold Roller Rockers, Edelbrock RPM Air Gap Intake, 650cfm Speed Demon Vac Secondary Carb, 1" ported Carb Spacer, K&N Style Flow thru Air Cleaner, 1 3/4" Hooker Full length Headers, 2 1/5" pipe w/ H-pipe and two Summit Turbo mufflers dumped before the rear, TH350 w/ Turbo Action Shift kit, TCI 3200-3600 stall Super Street Fighter Converter, Open rear w/ 3:73 gears, 3 way adjustable Summit drag shocks, Stock Suspension. I am sure I missed something. Anyways, i just ran my car in the 1/4 and was dissappointed. 13.7 was best with old 275/60 drag radials. The car has not been dyno'd or properly tuned and I am spinning REAL bad. I don't know if this helps. I am certainly hoping to get high 12's with timing/tuning, new drag radials, and some suspension mods. Good Luck

Re: Another what will i run thread...sorry

Sorry mw66nova, I must have over looked some of the specs. BTW, I just moved from Byron to NC. Wish I would have run into ya'll when I was stationed there building my car. Could have used some f-body help.

Re: Another what will i run thread...sorry

I am about 35 miles south of Goldsboro. Kinda in the middle of the eastern part of the state. Not too bad, now that we have found our old farm house, in the middle of no where and that we have found all the drag strips. It is still HUMID but it has to be cooler than GA. Just wish I could have sold my house in Byron except kept the garage.

Re: Another what will i run thread...sorry

Hey rubberman, sorry to mess up your thread. Best way to see what you'll run, is to run it. And go from there. Like I said before I ran mine to get a baseline (and was somewhat dissappointed) for a street car with stock suspension. But now I know where to make changes and to improve. Good Luck!
