Two cars, two classes, two finals

Our "Club Clash" series, 2nd to last race of the year. I run the '57 in the 10.50-13.99 "Top Street" class, and the Camaro in the 14.00-slower "Hot Rod" class. I went into the night in 3rd place in Top Street and tied for 6th place in Hot Rod, 3 rounds out of first in both.

I can't say I had the best night racing possible, but people kept losing to me. Top Street took 7 rounds, Hot Rod 8. By the 4th round, all I was doing was hopping out of one car and jumping into the other. They run Top Street first, even with the lower car count, but by the quarterfinals of Hot Rod they asked me to just keep coming back in the Camaro to run Hot Rod through the final, then get back in the '57 and run the Top Street final.

I got treed pretty thoroughly in the final of Hot Rod, but turned the tables in the final of Top Street against the points leader going into the night. So, 7 wins in each class for the night. I moved to first place in Hot Rod (by basically one round's worth of points), into 2nd place in Top Street but still 2 rounds behind first place with one race left in the season (next Friday).

Oh, the Camaro also clicked off a new best in the quarterfinals after the other person red lit. I dialed a 14.14, it ran a 14.04. I didn't think it would do it again so I dialed a 14.06 in the semis - another red light, it ran a 14.11. I dialed a 14.09 in the final, it ran another 14.11. Go figure. . .

Re: Two cars, two classes, two finals

Congratulations, sounds like you had a busy night or season for that matter. Good luck next Friday. I had my first track experience this year at cayuga. Instantly hooked! Toasted my clutch though. Don't think there will be time to break the new one in and get back out. Always wanted to get into one of OSCA's street classes. Must be an expensive hobby though.

Thanks. Yes, it has been a busy season.

I'm actually headed to the track again today for a "fall series" race. Then Sunday, they're having an "invitational" race - top racers in the summer ET series invited to run it off one last time for Wally's. I qualified for this invite in 3 classes.

Re: One car, two classes, one final

Today it was one car, two classes, one final.

I screwed up in the first round of Pro, anticipated the light, and bulbed.

The final in Trophy was a win.

Good tune-up for the invitational tomorrow.

Re: One car, two classes, one final

Congratulations

I ran our Friday night Midnight Madness series for the first time 2 fridays ago.
13.00 and slower class.I am going consistent 13.1's so I was one of the faster cars.
First time bracket racing a slower car,he left I bumped the gas but did not let off the brake,so no red light.
Saw 3rd yellow,left,red light by .003.

So I can respect how hard it is to do this consistently.
