Swan song a personal best

These will be the final passes for the rusty IROC-Z. It'll come apart this season and the go fast parts (in addition to several others) will find their way to the Sport Coupe.
For the record, this is my daily driver ( which just recently pulled a u-haul 7 000 kms cross country ). 100 000 kms on the original bore and crank. Drove to the track ( 2 1/2 hours) with the treaded bias ply McCrearys and raced.
Nice cool day.
1) 12.856 @ 104.22 w/1.735 60'
2) 12.800 @ 104.12 w/1.706 60'
3) 12.778 @ 105.05 w/1.754 60'

Pretty consistant as always. No tuning although I know there are a couple mph still to be had.
I expect the new car to go 12.5's or better.

Not bad.

I had a similar experience with the '57 this past weekend. Density altitude was only 600' above our elevation, according to my weather station. Ran a best NA at altitude of 12.839 @ 103.75 MPH on the first TT pass. The temp started warming up after that so DA went up, and the car slowed down accordingly.

That was probably the last pass the 396 will ever make (at least in this car). Stroked LQ4/4L80E being readied for it.

Re: Swan song a personal best

Here's a question for you five7.
While I didn't have a weather station with me at the track I did a little calculation with the info I gathered up the next day.
Air temp 43F.
Realtive humidity 45%
Barometric pressure 102kpa (about 30" Hg)
Track elevation 570'
I end up with a density altitude of minus 370'(+/-)
Does that compute?
