I own a Professional products hurricane intake, 4150 flange, sounds more reasonable??? What about carbs? I know the 1050 is to much, I wish I knew the VE% of the engine, if its in the high 90's then 1050 wouldnt be, but im guessing some where in the high 80's, I found a brand new QFT Q-850 on ebay $499 buy it now, is the 850 gonna be sufficient for 7000 rpm?
also as the Stroke goes up, does the max rpm range for a cam go down? the cam claims 3000-7000, can i really expect 7k from this stroker?
also would like input on the combo? what should have been done diff?
I don't have to much technical carb talk for you but I can offer experience. I personally was running a Demon 750 and it ran it's balls off down the track. I drove the car very often on the street and it sucked. Idle jumped everywhere, bogged, and always came out of adustment. I gave PAtrick a call at Pro Systems and converted to a holley. It was a great move. The carb is taylored to what I do with it, and the streetability has picked up by a ton. All the problems are gone accept now it makes a whole bunch more bottom end torque and broke my damn rear.
Another thing to note is the history of holley and the available knowlage and parts around to tune them.
I listen to peoples BBC combinations around 10-15 times a day sometimes. I would personally say that 90% of people with an efficient combination laying down good numbers run Holley's.
I would give the 4150HP a good look. It's holleys most advanced off the shelf 4150 and has a great reputation. I chose to go with a builder because if it has problems it will be on a brown truck back to them or they can personally walk me through it.
