At least in the Spokane case the county plans on keeping it open, even if they can't find a new operator.

Re: Another track closing

I've got a friend who races at the Spokane track. He sez that at least now it does look good for the track staying open, like five7 said!!! Only bummer so far is that it looks like they won't get the Divisional Meet that was planned for them next summer.... At our little local track, the car count was up for most events all summer and things look fine for next year... Just an IHRA track. We do have an NHRA track west of here about 140 miles--three years old and very nice!!!!

Re: Another track closing

That's too bad. I always liked going to Memphis. Been there 5 times for the F-Body events. 2 with the WS6, 2 with the TTA, and 1 with the GTO. Did my first road course there in the GTO and was surprised how well the car handled against other F-Body's.

People always seemed to be friendly and liked to talk to everybody...

Memphis had the Pump Gas Drags as well, although it was a no-go in 2009.

Re: Another track closing

the guys who they had running the track in spokane this last year.
are crooks..they did every thing they could to get the track closed...

from turning away 100 to 150 racers who have been racing for the last 10 years..(not passing tech) to not running anything pass 6 pm..

they did not pay any of the Bills.. and when they started the track had 1.6 mill in the bank to get things going.. all the money is gone??

on what..none of the Bill's got paid...

the guy who was running it for the last 15 years was forced out.. and was never charged with anything. (long story).. lets hope it go's back to
to Him..Orvill..(spelling)

to give you a bit more insite... when they took the track from him..
the first guy who was put in charg of running it..sold off the front gate road..to the the casino...for more parking space..

now how will racers get the the track..thank god for 4 wheel drive truck's
making a trail to the track... that was 3 years ago

this is what we are dealing with in Spokane!

crooks..(get a rope!)
