video of factory suspension in the works.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lrQiwA1zr9Y

Testing out the nitrous on my crap-mobile... Suspension is still just no front sway bar, Spohn non adjustable LCA's and relocation brackets. Otherwise it is completely stock (springs, torque arm, struts/shocks, bushings, etc). Also still has no frame connectors. 27x10.5" Hoosier QTP's that are nearly 2 years old.

I know the car would run a lot better with some real suspension but I'm still just having fun trying to see how far I can push it. That pass was a 1.514 60' which is a new best for me. Pass before it did a 1.528 60' so its actually somewhat consistent.

Have a lot of bugs to work out on the car but with some tuning and a little more spray I think it'll dip into the single digits

Damn, that truck beat you?

Looks good for stock suspension. If you swapped it all out at one time with sub fram connectors, it would feel like a different car.

Re: video of factory suspension in the works.

I was 60' 1.49 without sfcs and busted my windshield and started to get that nasty crack above my passenger door on the roof. Other than sfc and a 8pt bar mine is all factory and works great. Don't you love to be faster than those guys with 3 grand worth of suspension and they just don't believe what you got.

Based on the title, I expected to be able to actually see the suspension components moving. Anyway... nice launch.

Re: video of factory suspension in the works.

The camera is a GoPro Hero, motorsports edition.
http://www.goprocamera.com/index.php...2&productid=5#

Normally I use the suction cup for the exterior shots (like hanging off the door, on the decklid/windshield etc, check out the other youtube vids on my channel). For this shot I used the mount (with the supplied double sided tape) that the camera housing snaps into.

It does have some downfalls tho, like randomly cutting out after a few minutes. Hopefully the newer ones have that issue sorted out.

Sorry for the highjack!

Re: video of factory suspension in the works.

I use the GoPro wide model and love it. Some of the people at the autocross events were freaking out because they thought it was going to fall off the door. haha

88IROC350TPI your car is pretty badass for being a "crap-mobile" lol Thing runs good and because of you I got my new cam from Cam motion and hopefully my motor makes some decent power as well. As for the video that is a nice 60' foot but you can see how much the car lifts on the drivers front tire and how little it does on the passenger side. Probably due to flex in the chasis and other variablies in the suspension. I understand you just want to see what you can get out of a stock suspension so dont think im bashing your launch at all. I just cant wait to see what it will do when you throw some suspension parts at it. Good luck with it and again it is a bad *** car man !

a lighter vehicle with much better everything beat me? I'd hope so. Judging by how fast I went on that pass I'd say that truck was in the 9's on motor.

Thanks, I think the next mod I'll do to the suspension is an air-bag in the passenger spring. You can see in that video the spring almost completely compresses the spring and then as soon as the car starts moving it "pops" back up and makes the car bouncy. In the end I'm just looking for that "best bang for the buck" suspension setup that is as simple as possible. I'm going back to the track this sunday to do some more T&T'ing although my 6 year old stock TH350 is starting to act up... I get the impression it's on its last few passes before dying but we'll see.

I do a little bit of grudge racing so I'm not going to say my times on spray but let's say the car is faster than 10.99 but slower than 9.99.
