Why??

It is Tech when u really think about it, same for street racing posts. U are comparing the performance and mods(if u know the other cars mods) of 2 cars, and asking if u could possibly beat the other in 1 of the things Third Gens are best at, street racing.

Looking For:

87 IROC-Z28 350 TPI
The car I want.

84 TRANS AM 305 H.O.
Another car that would be OK to own while I still look for the IROC-Z!!

Yeah, the L82 was the most pathetic 350 motor that Chevy ever produced. You've got nothing to worry about.

Holy crap, my LG-4 would toast that piece. Hey, tell that guy to swing over from Ohio to CT so I can add a Vette to my list of wins.

82 Vette was one of the most pathetic ever built. I'm not sure it could even out run the original 6-cylinder Vettes.

Wouldn't be too hard to hop that motor up though, after all a carbed 350 is cheap and easy to get going stronger. He'll always be held back by weak heads and compression until he ditches the stock heads and/or digs into the engine a bit... I would think even w/ the stock crap heads and compression he could run pretty decently w/ a good cam/intake/exhaust combo though.

In the defense of the 82 Vette,it was not one of the slowest year Vettes made. The 53-55 6 cylinder,75 base 165hp 350,and 80's stinky 180hp 305 California Corvettes were much slower(17 1/2-18sec 1/4miles.)The L83 in the 82 Corvette was rated at
200hp and 285tq.
