5sp L69... Shifting RPMs? L69 Times

I just took my '85 L69 5sp to the track last night for the first time. Only mods are K&N and Catback exhaust with gutted cat. What RPM should I be shifting at? I only ran a 16.1 at 87mph and I've seen people with LG4's doing as good. My reaction times were .5's on all 3 runs (broke my clutch linkage on the third) but shouldn't I be in low 15's high 14's with this car? its 3:73 posi with BFG TA's I didn't seem to spin too bad off the line. I think my shifts were about 3000rpm off the line, first at like 2500rpm and second at about 3000rpm... Third at about 4500rpm Should I rap it out to about 5grand through all the gears? (except off the line)?

You should run each gear to whatever the engine pulls to (4500) in each gear. Get as much power to the ground as possible.

A well tuned L69 should pull well to 5500 rpm
Check my new post for L69 potential.....
