No, have been sick and just got off work for a couple days, not to mention the weather is starting to get crummy, hopefully this week though, gotta throw O2s in the 5.3 swapped 90 RS.

I could barely fit a sheet of paper between my pan and k member on the 89. But the TA I used 1 inch set backs, much better.

Re: down, but NOT out
i got one from a fourthgen, thanks man!
verdict of the 6.0...everything else looks basically new, but the crank is scratched up pretty good on this main, which means a cut. given that this crank has been cut twice now, i'll be looking for a new one.

I bet you're excited now!
So you didnt bother pulling the reverse lockout solenoid and the CAGS solenoid? I figure the CAGS would be chucked to save the .5 lbs that it weights, and the reverse lockout... I presume you're going to properly wire it in? I keep meaning to buy the pigtails I need to wire mine up.

gm corporate blue, yup.
kyle, i'm more than excited...i threw the seat in there and started playing with the shifter, lol! i have the stuff on there still mainly cause i'm lazy, but i think i want the speedo and reverse lights to work. the cags i'll just leave on there for now cause i'm lazy, lol.
started working on the new trans crossmember tonight...no real progress, so no pics, but i'm getting some ideas, lol. hope to maybe hammer it out before the end of the week. turkey day tomorrow, so not sure how much metal i'll be burning.

Re: down, but NOT out
Uh oh, gonna be ripping gears in no time. FWIW, I never have gone into reverse on a T56, and I have been beating on them for over 10 years with them no using the reverse lock out solenoid.
Cannot wait to start getting the 4.8 together. Income tax cannot get here quick enough! I am not sure I will be able to live with 3.42s but you never know.
Hope you can launch on the moon with no problem but you will probably be slipping the clutch, that setup you have is for real power and the lil ol 5.3 just does not muster enough torque.

Re: down, but NOT out
Wonder how your mpg will be as well. I was at 2000 rpm in 6th turning 76 mph with the 275/60 at 27" tall with the 4.30s. So yes, .50 OD FTMFW.

Re: down, but NOT out
FWIW, with 4.56 gears, and a 0.5 overdrive -
Wheel RPM=[(70miles/hour)*(5280foot/mile)*(12inches/foot)*(1hour/60min)]/[pi*diameter(in/rotation)]
Engine RPM = [(Wheel RPM)*(4.56)*(0.5)]
Resulting in:
26" tires = 2063 RPM @ 70mph
27" tires = 1987 RPM @ 70mph
28" tires = 1915 RPM @ 70mph
0.5 OD is pretty awesome

Re: down, but NOT out
I never took off in anything but 1st with the 4.30s, 4.56 would be no difference. Unless you had a rediculous tire that was super short.

4.30's here. Put 250 miles on the car 2 weekends ago, average 23.97mpg. Thats hammering it when I wanted, some city driving, at least 200 of those were interstate at 75+mph.
And I always start in first...second would be way too tall.

Re: down, but NOT out
Where are you thinking your shift points will be? You planning on going to 7000 RPM on stock internals? I'd be having nightmares of rods coming apart and destroying my fancy heads. Hell I worry about that NOW sometimes.

Looks good man. I wired my reverse lockout and I'm glad I did. Only takes a few extra minutes. Wishing I had a .5 overdrive.

The 5.3 will be fine at 68/6900. That is where I set my buddies cars and have not had a failure. None of them have wanted it at 7200 like all mine, lol.

That's pretty much what mine looked like before I went a bit further for those 7000 rpm launches.

It will be fine, I was also hitting it with the 150 as well. You should not have any worries. I had my tq arm still connected to it as well.

Re: down, but NOT out
That is why you see the pieces have been cut, I reused the TQ arm mount that came with my spohn setup, so the driver side is simple horrid to clear exhaust. Spohn did not build those for any clearance.
