Was noticing not too much going on in here from Oregon. Where ya at what do ya drive? Any auto cross or solo scca drivers and pics of car? Drag racers? Cruisers........... We have a great cruise here in July....... Some extra late nite Racing now and then (I do not partake in street racing). Lets let them know there are a few Gen 3's in the area!
Re: Oregon! shout out Where ya at what do ya drive?
Hey what's up... Down here in S. OR Just got my Iroc last year. My son and I done quite a bit of work on it. The 383 with 4:56 gears is a beast and fun the car looks completly stock until you fire it up. We went to the local cruise last summer 1971 and older crap it should be for rods not 1970 ford 4x4 junker pickups, I was embarassed to be there.
Re: Oregon! shout out Where ya at what do ya drive?
Im here in salem trying to srape in some extra money to build up my FireBird and i am always looking for things to do there needs to be a 3rd gen club around here
Re: Oregon! shout out Where ya at what do ya drive?
I agree but does not seem to be much interest. I understand the scraping up money part. I thought building the car was expensive, now not sure I can put fuel in it. lol
Re: Oregon! shout out Where ya at what do ya drive?
i know that specially since my firebird has a 700r4 trans in it and is missing 3-4th gear yippy i have to stay in down lol now thats a gas guzzler lmao for now

Roseburg / Winston Graffiti night. Man I just Gave away A Good 700r cause I was tired of tripping over it. I took it Out Of my car to switch to 5 speed.
Re: Oregon! shout out Where ya at what do ya drive?
Hardest part so far is locating all the parts (For low Buck stuff) I found everything I need and was planning on doin install this weekend. I lucked out and found trans, pedals, Hydraulic slave and master cylinder $150, all but flywheel and clutch. Friend had light flywheeel so all is in the machine shop getting balanced this week. I am using the world class t-5. I also rebuilt motor with Crane Roller cam flat top pistons etc. I am planning on doing some scca type racing this year. Gutted whole car filled it up with roll bars a built a nice engine hope it all works out . lol

Are you going to auto-x wiht Willamette Sports Cars? I have thought about going down there, to see how they run theirs, and how it compares with the SCCA stuff up here. But, I am working weekends now, so racing is sort of out for the time being.

Re: Oregon! shout out Where ya at what do ya drive?
Hey guys I live in Winston just south of Roseburg. I am building my Hot Rod to race Auto cross and Hillclimb. I did a little in Alsaka but quit for a while. My buddy built a 89 corvette and we went to Willows California and Raced a track day at Thunder Hill Raceway. What a blast. I got the fever again and decided I had to build 1 more Car. I have had several camaro's in my life so I thought 1 more couldn't hurt. So now here I go again with an 88 Iroc that some young kid ratted out. It had one of those self installed hi perfomance stereo systems that caused a lot of interior damage. So I thought what the hey and took it all out and to the dump. By the way anyone need any power window or door lock motors? I took them out also. I then started fabing in a roll cage. I installed a adjustible pand hard bar ordered lowering springs and new shocks & struts. I rebuilt the 350 with flat top pistons Crane hyd. roller cam some good heads and a Victor Jr intake. On top of that I have a 750 Demon carb pertronics ignition and a msd 6 box. Since I removed all the interior (dash gauges etc) I decided on Autometer 2 5/8 gauges (cause I can't see the little guys lol.) I opted for the t-5 trans because I had one. I have a b&m shifter etc. I am currently in the middle of the auto to manual switch over. It has not been bad yet. But I am going to try and build my own adjustablr tourqe arm. We will see haow that goes. I have Kumo slicks on all 4 corners mounted on 17" Rally wheels I found laying around. I need to get a few more parts rounded up so I can finish. I will keep you in the loop if you are interested.

Re: Oregon! shout out Where ya at what do ya drive?
Hav'nt posted here for a while how did the summer go for you guys? I did not finish my hot rod this year maybe next year. I am going racing none the less. The fuel prices and a new ruling on child support put me in the rears on race car project LOL. Oh well thread died out so I thought I would try and spark it up again. any takers?

Re: Oregon! shout out Where ya at what do ya drive?
Cool I like the TA but am a camro guy all the way. wish I still had some of the old ones 67 RS SS, 70 and a few other third gens. I had the cross fire version in 90 not too happy bout that one.
Re: Oregon! shout out Where ya at what do ya drive?
Howdy Yalls from saint helens oregon, I am working on a 91 Camaro RS which I just got the 3.1 FI v6 which needs work pulled out and I am going to put in a SBC 350 4 bolt main with 700R4. So its still not on the road just yet but hopefully will figure out some minor snags Im running into. I brought the car home on 8/25/2008 and got it with the SBC motor for a steal.
A good friend of mine (and one who is playing a big role in my rebuild) is the President of Siskiyou Sports Car Club (SSCC) so I will be doing some autocross here. Maybe some drag racing...who knows...

Hello from Tigard,OR. I've had my Third Gen for about 14 months now. I'll never figure out why I didn't get one of these cars sooner!!
Just got done rebuilding suspension with poly bushings. Wonder bar up front. New B&M shifter. Cold air intake. etc.....
Still a work in progress but what a blast to drive!! Maybe I'll see some of you out at PIR when the sun finally decides to shine!! Bird.jpg
Re: Oregon! shout out Where ya at what do ya drive?
Hey there. Quite a few thirdgenners in the Portland/Vancouver metro area. We will be having a dyno day in Lake Oswego February 21 (8th annual!). Not sure if I am allowed to post up the info so send me a private message if you would like to meet up/get introduced.
Re: Oregon! shout out Where ya at what do ya drive?
Glad to see the thread still lives. I hope to go to PIR for a track day this year. Geetin the itch to run he ol girl. Anyway cool that you are all out there keep up the post!
Re: Oregon! shout out Where ya at what do ya drive?
That would be great if you came out to PIR. If and when you decide to come out shoot me a PM. I am a Tech Inspector for the drag strip and it's always great to meet new third gen enthusiasts.
Re: Oregon! shout out Where ya at what do ya drive?
I'd love to take the old girl out on the twisties. Not much fun to put in a new suspension just to have her drive straight!! lol
Have a great day everyone and hopefully I'll meet some of you at the tracks!!

Is this place that locked down that in the local forums we can't post about local gatherings?
Re: Oregon! shout out Where ya at what do ya drive?
This looks as good a place as any for a first post. I don't have a 3rd Gen, sorry. What I do have is an Isuzu Trooper with a 3.4L SFI engine swapped into it. And I'm in Hood River, OR.
Been driving it about a year with the 3.4L, but I'm about to tear into it again for some upgrades and bug fixes. Came here to beg parts and advice.
Re: Oregon! shout out Where ya at what do ya drive?
All you guys are on the green side of the state. I'm over here in Vale, almost Idaho, on potato time, yea there is another time zone in oregon. You guys have the mountain roads, we have some middle of nowhere straight aways that lead you into oh**** curves.
88 v6(for now) coupe with a few upgrades. Just starting out.

Yea, between my two one hundred dollar cars I should get the good one in great shape.
Where did he teach? I know the instructor from Vale and his instructor from Nyssa who now lives in Vale. I met the Ontario guy once but wouldn't recognize him on the street.
