Anyone know of a place in or near-ish to Tacoma, WA that can do OBD I tuning. I don't actually need any "real" tuning done. What I need is a programmer. I can supply the chip and the .bin I just need a way to put the two together. I inquired at all the places I could find in the phonebook and no one does OBD I stuff. I'm not really suprised, but I still need a programmer. (I bought a knock-off Willem programmer from eBay and near as I can tell it's a dud... Not really suprised by that either )
I suppose I'll also post in the "Parts Wanted" section or maybe the DIY PROM/EFI" sections to see if anyone would want to do this for me through the mail.

-1989 Camaro with a 305 TPI, soon to be 6.0L LSx. -1985 Camaro with a 350 TPI, probably gonna stay that way. At least until I'm done with the other one...

So Speed Secrets is up there in Monroe, eh? Hmm, that's pretty far... I think I may have found a place down here closer in Auburn, it's called Blood Enterprises. If it falls through with them, I'll probably hit up Speed Secrets and see if maybe they could just burn me a chip and mail it down here.

Good Luck with them, but you might be rebuilding your engine after you deal with them. I know I did, after the main bearings went on my car while on their dyno.
after them charging me 2k to get a computer chip programed via them, (it was only suppose to cost $750) When I asked them after I got my car back how much longer it will take to do the chip, they said itwould be another $500 & about an hour worth of tuning.
Taking the stock computer out of the car & going with a mega Squirt system.
Wow, I guess they suck, lol... Fortunately, I don't need any tuning, I just need someone to burn a stock .bin to a chip for me and I can handle the rest. They don't even need to touch my car... Not that I would let them anyway, after hearing what happened to you.

I would either call ellis with speed secret or go a hold of TJ Wong in portland or even get a hold of Turbo tech in Tacoma.
someone out there will be willing to do it.
I was just reading the old thread that was made when my car went down, & there were two other cars that went to them that did the same thing, all spun main bearings.
Its now 4.5yrs later & The engine is just now finding its way back in to the car.
I have never used Blood Enterprises but I have spoken to the owner of one bad *** 03 mustang that had them do all of the work on it. Hand made intake, custom tuned aftermarket computer, hand made headers, 9", K member, ATI S/C, stroked 351 to 400+ CI, cage, etc. It ran low 9's. He spent big bucks but was happy.
Blood specializes more in Mustangs than anything Chevy. I know of one person who had their truck tuned (Accel EFI) and wasn't very happy with the results. Overpriced results i might add.
I'm in Tacoma, but I'm using the EBL system and have no idea what to do for your chip style.
Yeah, Blood Ent. quoted me the shop minimum of $40 to have a stock .bin flashed. Which I think is a little steep for the job, but I do understand the whole minimum charge thing. In my opinion a good price for flashing a customer provided .bin to a customer provided chip (not having to do any work on a car, just a bare chip) would be like $10. But, I understand that price would be hard to get from a shop. Perhaps I would be better off looking for a private party to handle this, given my cheapness.
I actually think I may have successfully repaired my eBay programmer. Should know in a few days when the power supply comes, provided I haven't ruined my chips.

I just called Speed Secrets and they said they do not tune our cars. He said they forward all of their customers to Ed Wright Fast Chip. Bummer, I was ready to drop good money to have them do it.
